You know I always wanted to see a alternate version of mephiles called Mephiles the Light who would have had a more holy angelic design which I know probably would have made his connection to Solaris even more obvious but still I mean think about it makes sense. Iblis is supposed to be the raw power of Solaris whereas Mephiles is the mind of Solaris. In other words Mephiles is basically Solaris himself but just in a weaker form
