What If Movie Battles 2 had a CO-OP Mode ?

Hey guys, I recently came up with the idea of trying co-op KOTOR maps with friends, and our very first test was fun, so I decided to try it on Onderon. Most NPCs are super buggy, but it's still a real challenge to complete the mission in less than 5 minutes.
I made this video to gauge interest in further developing this concept. It might be boring to watch, but at least you'll understand the idea. Feel free to comment your thoughts and opinions.

Tbh, a co-op mode would be fun. I've always wanted Jedi Academy co-op to be a thing because of the funny potential. This is close enough. In MB2's case you could have co-op missions based on events from the series like how the maps are usually based on important things from the movies and games. Definitely has potential as a concept.

Another idea could be something more simplistic like a co-op based survival mode where the goal is to survive until the round timer runs out against waves of enemy NPCs. Kinda like Firefight mode from Halo perhaps with the enemies getting more difficult as it progresses. Like maybe it starts off with just Stormtroopers and by the end you're fighting groups of Reborns. Something like that as an example.

We appreciate that you made this experiment in MB2, co-op mode would be more fun It felt like playing SWTOR in MB2 style, maybe adding ahealer role to a player to help other player would make it more fun If it was possible to make movies in MB2, I would certainly do it But there are not enough actors to do it sadly 😂 I wish this was possible

gogo cocker here, I loved this style of play, it was the most creative so far in movie battles 2, and there is a great expanded universe in this medium, so much so that we could do a version of CO-OP with the Jedi temple, against the clones of 501st and Anakin himself alongside the Grand Inquisitor (there would also be Jedis who fell to the dark side when starting the Knightfall operation).

I opened a thread in 2018 on the Movie Battle's official forum some people liked the idea of making it possible but we haven't the knowledge to make it true, I expect you can make it now. I keep playing from time to time and i'm still wanting to prove that co-op you have here.

I think it's a cool idea, I'd probably play this! I was talking to some players recently about an idea like this. People seem to like the idea of adding bots, not just in coop, but in normal multiplayer matches if possible. Like in Battlefront, it could be a lower stress way to play and practice the game at times and would help with lower pop servers.

Well if I remember correctly, Obi-Wan is saying this in response to Anakin saying something to the effect of, "If you are not with me, you are my enemy." It's a pretty standard intimidation/manipulation tactic. The individual or group being told this is expected to wholeheartedly help and support the goals of the speaker or the speaker will work to destroy them. This is why Obi-Wan says "I will do what I must" and reluctantly readies himself for battle. Anakin has removed all other options from the table with this statement. The Jedi promote pluralism and work to find peaceful solutions to disputes all throughout the galaxy. Anakin's statement is the antithesis of the entire Jedi ethos because he will accept no compromise; either Obi-Wan accepts his rule or they fight to the death.

Very interesting idea. I've always enjoyed a good co-op experience and MMOs besides. Could be a lot of fun as a sort of FA-adjacent mode

I love the concept. Time to rebuild Kotor in a MB2 co-op campaign, looting footlockers get you more MB2 points for your build. That said might be easier to start with a horde mode on a more closed in map. Though it depends on how NPCs work in JKA. Been a long time since I looked at it but I seem to recall bot routes needing to be setup which would complicate NPC's going on the offense or moving around in general other then mindless charging. For a test map, maybe something like Mygeeto, long linear, might be best. Maybe Leviathan or Star Forge could work if you want to stick with the Kotor theme?

Yes, you can fight against a killable boba-fett if he is in team jedi/ally in vanilla JK. And players should be in team sith. Mutant rancor would be fun. Jawas. Wampa and lots of battle droids

I immediately love the idea. If this was stable, I would be all over it. It could even be themed, say Republic commando maps where you have different point classes of commandos, and others that are generic kotor/clone wars/gcw eras. Is this possible to more officially integrate?

It’s possible to play in the bots team but I think the server would crash at some point (at least if 16vs16), we will have to try it and find out :D
