In a quiet forest on the outskirts of Kuoh Town, Issei Hyoudou sat in a dark cave, the cold stone beneath him doing little to numb the pain in his heart. His tears flowed freely, mingling with the rain that dripped from the cave's entrance. He had once been the wielder of the Boosted Gear, a powerful Sacred Gear housing the Welsh Dragon, Ddraig. He had dreams of becoming the Harem King, surrounded by the women he loved and who loved him in return. But those dreams had been shattered. Naruto Uzumaki had appeared out of nowhere, seemingly perfect in every way. His charm, strength, and unyielding determination had won over Issei’s friends and even the powerful beings who had once supported Issei. The girls who had been Issei’s cherished companions, his harem, had turned their affections to Naruto. And then, as if to twist the knife, Naruto had somehow taken the Boosted Gear from Issei. Issei had tried to fight, tried to hold on to what he believed was his destiny, but he had been overpowered and overwhelmed. His friends had abandoned him, siding with Naruto. Even the dragons, including Ddraig, had turned their backs on him, dismissing him as nothing more than a perverted fool unworthy of their respect. Now, isolated and heartbroken, Issei had retreated to the forest. The cave became his sanctuary, a place where he could cry without shame, hidden from the world that had betrayed him. He had considered revenge, the thought of reclaiming what was once his burning within him. But he knew that path would only make him like those who had wronged him. As he sat in the cave, Issei felt a presence. He looked up, expecting to see yet another foe or tormentor. Instead, he saw a figure bathed in a soft, gentle light. It was Ophis, the Infinite Dragon God. "Why are you here?" Issei asked, his voice hoarse from crying. Ophis stepped closer, her expression unreadable. "I came to see the one who has been abandoned by all. Do you wish for power? To take revenge?" Issei shook his head. "No. I won't become like them. I won't let hatred consume me." Ophis nodded. "You have a kind heart, Issei Hyoudou. That is why you were chosen by the Boosted Gear. Even without it, you have a strength that few possess." Issei looked down, his tears still falling. "What good is that strength if I can't protect the ones I love? If they all leave me?" Ophis extended a hand to him. "Come with me. There is still a path for you, one where you can find true strength and perhaps, in time, new companions who will never betray you." Issei hesitated but then reached out, taking Ophis's hand. As she helped him to his feet, he felt a glimmer of hope. Perhaps his journey wasn't over. Perhaps there was still a future where he could find happiness, even if it was different from what he had once imagined. Together, they left the cave, stepping into the rain-soaked forest. Issei looked back one last time at the place where he had shed so many tears, then turned his gaze forward. He didn't know what lay ahead, but with Ophis by his side, he felt ready to face it.
