They need to make a whole alternate series where orochimaru was successful taking sasukes body and show his progression to achieving the renegan. Having him fight the akatsuki and the villages as a rouge ninja would be so dark and interesting. I was always upset how they did my man orochimaru when sasuke killed him... He was the best villain in the series and probably the best character right under pervy sage. Loved itachi's character as well. Pain and obito where really cool as well. There was so many things they could've done better to make the series way better then it already was. Orochimaru dying was the first thing that hurt the potential and then pervy sage dying hurt it even more.

I would love to see this happen. I always thought Kishimoto never did him justice as a villain. He was always meant to reach his peak somehow by obtaining an Uchiha power (which eventually sort of happens in Boruto anyways). I know it would have caused a huge rift in the original plot but I feel one way to mitigate that is to simply have Orochimaru fail to take Sasuke's body but succeed in taking one of his eyes. Based on his statements with Kakashi in the chunin exams and the fact that he technically could've bargained with Danzo to get the sharingan though, it's possible he didn't want to settle for just the eyes; he wanted an Uchiha body too. But still, I'd love to see either scenario happen.

I've been meaning to ask can you do What if Sakura trained with Kurenai along Tsunade she was always the first one to break out of a genjutsu apart from the one time Sasuke surprised her. A medical genjutsu specialist ninja would make her character a lot more loved in Shippuden.

chalk it up to the village being stretched thin at the time. Sound 4 arrived 3 weeks min after Orochimaru killed Hiruzen(2 weeks pass between Itachi attacking Kakashi and Jiraiya stopping Itachi and Kisame. Another week passes for Naruto mastering rasengan). Tsunade's first act as Hokage was to start sending jonin on S rank missions and sending most chunin on A and B rank missions. Konoha was recovering from the attack and their manpower was low. Sound 4 slipped in.
