But what’s crazy is that humans are not the only ones adapting to modern society. Tones of animals have cognitively adapted to modern lands and way better than the average human beings, too. Even in cages adapt quickly. But for them to be sentient isn’t exactly to have a bigger brain, because there are bigger brains than the human mind that still are not sentient. They need the parts that we have to be sentient. But we have to advance that to animals if that is the reality humanity is taking.

I agree! I actually shortened the video down by taking out a section on clothes😅in summary, the only reason I’d see a hairy creature adopt clothes is practicality. Originally, jewellery and “bells” may be worn by males to make sound, since that was their way of impressing mates. Tools and mechanical attachments might slide off easier with cloth, like “moving blankets”. Also as they move south and need to keep cool, kelp mats carried on backs to be sold at market might evolve culturally into a symbol of wealth, as well as functionally keeping them cool like Herbert’s “stillsuits”. Orangutans in nature cover themselves with leaves despite being hairy, and octopuses often wear clams despite communicating with their skin. But I love your question! Glad we’re thinking the same thing

It would be a very interesting concept especially if they lack fingers like the other future animal's previous videos. Some options I suggest would be that they could evolve to have more flexible and dexterous hooves, or use their mouths, tails, or other body parts to manipulate objects. Or develop some form of sensory organs that allows them to communicate with other creatures to aid them. Besides that I feel like I want to see a crossover between the dog and racoon worlds

How would these raccoons have evolved upright twofeetedness and opposable thumbs? Are their feet plantigrade (like bears, men and the rest of the primates) or metatarsigrade (like dogs, cats, and theropod dinosaurs, both fowlish and unfowlish)?
@cas3yarttv7 ай бұрын
I think plantigrade! It would be relatively similar to their anatomy today, since it’s only a million years, maybe 2, in this timeline at least. They would most likely run on all fours for speed, switching to upright only to use hands for mechanical complicated things. I’m not a big fan of anthropomorphising animals, but with this I think it’s the best way they can manipulate tools
@volvagianintendo64657 ай бұрын
Thanks for answering, @@cas3yarttv, but you still didn't explain how they would develop opposable thumbs, since they are a must when developing a sophont vertebrate animal without trunks nor prehensile tails. Also, I don't care about whether it comes out manshapened (anthropomorphicized) or not since I only care about what are the likeliest, fairest and soundest evolutionary tweakings for an animal to reach sophonce. Remember that upright twofeetedness in a four-limbed animal without a tail like that of an unbirdish theropod dinosaur and a trunk like that of an elephant is ever more advantageous than a horizontal body position. Lastly, luckily for these raccoons, they themselves already have clavicles, right like the primates, which betters the capabilities of throwing objects, itself being handy for hunting with spears and other throwable weapons. This is an upside that raccoons have over the Amazonian bush dogs, which would also have to develop clavicles since carnivorans lack them. Also, they would need such thumbs for being able to make and manipulate tools easily, which would greaten their own cleverness sooner. Lastly, I think 1000000 or 2000000 years is a little bit too quick or soon, thinkest thou not? But, inferring from thy abreasting, I guess they would evolve them as an answer to their own greatening in complexity of the objects they themselves make, which would be an evolutionary pressure. Lastly, remember that upright twofeetedness in a four-limbed animal without a prehensile tail and a trunk like that of an elephant, nor arms with suction cups like those of most cephalopods, nor a long and stiff stabilizing tail like that of an unbirdish theropod dinosaur is ever more advantageous than a horizontal fourfeeted body plot since 'tis more energetically efficient and frees the hands permanently. However, in the case of the sophont dinosaurs, their twofeetedness is as energetically efficient or more energetically efficient than that of the hominins, notwithstanding the fact that their twofeetedness is horizontal or semihorizontal, (hinging on the kind) since they have a long and stiff stabilizing tail or a short tail that has a pelvic girdle that keeps the torso at least in a slanted position.

Dolphins, elephants and chimpanzees are the most intelligent and socially complex animals that exist just after humans (and especially elephants and dolphins are especially good at recognizing themselves in the mirror); but dolphins have a much higher encephalization coefficient than the rest (the human has almost 7 while the dolphin has a little more than 5, and the chimpanzee has a little more than 2). But of course... dolphins have the big problem that they are in an environment that does not encourage the development of limbs that manipulate objects... in addition, water makes the discovery and use of fire impossible (impossible?). In theory, a socially complex civilization could be created without developing technology... but it would be a stagnant civilization in several ways by not being able to progress, for example, to populating other planets; which is important because a species becoming interplanetary ensures/improves the probabilities of its long-term survival and permanence. I would like to see what you could do with the dolphins and the ravens, which are the most intelligent birds along with that species of gray African parrot (they use tools, they solve complex problems, they remember faces).
