I think this scenario has a lot of popularity cause of how much potential Raditz had as a character. Another Saiyan, son of Bardock, brother of Goku, another story of redemption. Everything Masako has covered in this series has felt like it could actually happen. From mending his relationship with Goku, the rivalry with Vegeta, and his love life with Launch. It all feels possible. Seriously Toei, get on this.

DM_Nat The one complaint I'd have with this is we don't see Raditz learning any new moves. Vegeta creates Final Flash, so I think it'd be cool if at some point Raditz has a new move too. Maybe something that would be named after a whole week.

DM_Nat I always wanted Raditz to come back to life. It could’ve been badass, too. Like Raditz realized how strong his brother was in hell and trains incessantly until he’s eventually revived to have a rematch with Goku. then you’d have a fun fight where Goku is just testing Raditz but ultimately he’s stronger and could lead to him convincing Raditz that the brothers need to train together.

I'd be more hype for the Goku Black arc. Imagine Raditz fighting Black, it'd be like full circle. Plus the added scenario of Black possibly slaughtering Raditz's family along with Goku's that would make it an extra personal event for the brothers, plus Radito Blue.

well the SSG transformation becomes easier to obtain. No need for Pan for that anymore. Golden Frieza will ultimately blow up Earth anyway, and I'm already guessing Goku, Vegeta and Raditz will be training together under Whis and obtain SSB. Raditz is picked instead of Piccolo for the Universe 6 tournament and loses to Frost's poison barb. Goku Black arc is too much of a pain to think about on a whim. Universe Survival arc is not done yet so can't yet put my thoughts into it.

There are other good ones... Check out Bringer of Death on fanfiction It hasn't ended yet, but it's a 'Vegeta turns ssj first' (instead of just crying against Frieza) deal that's been running for years. It takes a lot of interesting turns while keeping the characters intact. BOD was inspired by DragonBall Multiverse (a comic with its own website). Savior of Demons (slow burn Frieza redemption fic) is also decent, but new Canon from Super makes it a bit of a strange fit now.

Something to consider going into the super line is that the numbers of the Saiyan god ritual have changed. That raises the question, could we have 2 Saiyan gods at once since we have 2 extra Saiyans? I mean, the power could be put into Goku once and then the ritual would be done again on either Raditz or Vegeta. Feel free to comment your thoughts on this and if it would be logistically possible.

Well they likely wouldn't need to. Whoever goes God, it won't matter; if Beerus has, what is it, 30% over them then he'd still dominate against multiple people. Even at that, I feel like if a Saiyan takes part in the ritual, even if they aren't the recipient turning into a SSJG, that they can do it on their own after training. Though that's my way to rationalize Vegeta training into godhood even though it's just impossible, as without the ritual Saiyans don't in anyway have godly energy.

It's a little too late but this can be addressed in the next part when RF and ToP are covered, I myself have always personally wondered this, but Frieza's relationship with Raditz could be for more strained than his relationship with Vegeta ever was on the account that Raditz's father was the one who rebelled against Frieza that fateful day. Emphasis could be spent on the revelation that Frieza purposefully kept Raditz alive to spite the man who dared challenge him. It be an interesting dynamic since Frieza only passively remembers Goku as Bardock's son cause of the resemblance and that is quietly thrown out once the Namek fight begins.

No doubt. But how often have we seen game dev teams given a good idea, then just fumble it to pieces. That's why we need legit creative people like Masako that AREN'T in the game industry, and thus not creatively bankrupted by the powers that be, to work on actual decent stories. Because if I have to play another XV2 level where I am "buying time" for "BLANK" to arrive I'm Spirit Bombing that damn bird.

They're not, but that's why fresh blood and unique idea's like Masakos' is what they need. As opposed to just stalling for time so Goku can get there to fight, why not be able to play the game where Raditz is the one sent to Earth, gets injured and helped by Gohan and then shown what good is like. He then follow through the Dragnball/ DBZ history with your player character being his Krillin of sorts. For sake of time, you enter and leave at pivotal moments that start off like Goku's journey but diverge greatly over time up until Goku lands in Z. Raditz sees his baby brother and then goes to try and show him how to be good. We play the first XV/ XV2 mission that we've played before but now it's completely different. And from that alone, how does the rest of the story play out? I'd love to play it, I'd love to know. Maybe Raditz dies nobly in order to reach his brother. Maybe watching someone who he felt was both the most like him and yet his rival convinces a still partially evil Piccolo to question if he can also be more than he was created to be. Maybe Kakarot holding his last living family member, now dying by his hand, begins to wonder why his brother chose to abandon his mission, not fail it like he initially believed. Maybe he begins trying to find what Raditz did, all the while knowing Vegeta and Nappa are approaching. Maybe as the time patroller, or whatever your character is dubbed, you look after Goku and train him like you and Raditz did, then as a very confused Z fighter team is wary of Kakarot's aid they need Raditz to come back. Only for your character to then need to go after him since, for some reason, with knowledge of Raditz not being of Earth, he was sent to an afterlife that isn't so easy to reach. You then have to cross into another after life, find a training Raditz and then escape, only for Kami to find a way to get you 2 to King Kai and go through the Spirit bomb training, but Raditz' training in the other afterlife gives him a power similar to Kaioken, but more unique for a sect of Saiyans' who had a new found spirituality. But the trade off is it drains actual life energy to use, but is far stronger and more primal. Introduce new paths and alternate takes on events that are so detached from the normal storylines, it makes us wonder how many actual realities may invade and disrupt the base timeline. I'd love for them to just say, lets go full on head case crazy and see what happens.

I really wish this is how Z went. This adds a whole new depth of family ties and struggles, rivalries, and character development. I feel this is especially true in the Buu saga. Your theories and what if scenarios are brilliant!

Buu is never revived and Goku never gets the money from Hurcule for saving the world from Buu. I guess Hurcule can still take credit in the aftermath and Buu to be resurrected in good from. Also you didn't really cover the dragon radar retrieval, instead of Trunks it could of been Ranch and given Gotenks more time on fusion. Either way I loved how this episode was done and i'm glad you're doing more into super.

Future Trunks Saga:Again, things would play out much the same at first with Future Trunks showing up, then Goku black following them and Goku fighting Black. During the interlude I feel like Future Trunks would catch up with Raditz a bit but he would be fourth on his list after Gohan, Vegeta, and Goku. However, now there are three SSJB level Saiyans here. So in their initial excursion to the future Vegeta is still beaten by Black, but now Raditz and Black fight. Raditz is a little hesitant at first because Black looks just like his brother. He puts up a bit more of a fight than Vegeta due to being more cautious but is still defeated. The Ensuing Battle between SSJB Goku and SSJR Black is closer because Black was worn down by two consecutive battles before Goku. When Zamasu shows up it is still Trunks who jumps into the battle instead of Raditz. He is too weak after fighting Black and using SSJB meanwhile Trunks is still in top condition. After they are defeated by the Black Kamehameha Yanjerobi carries off Goku and Trunks while Raditz (begrudgingly) saves Vegeta. Things would play out much the same until they once again go into the future. When Trunks feeds Mai the Senzu bean and Goku questions it Raditz would also be surprised at Goku because, you know, who doesn't know what a kiss is? I'm not sure exactly how this next fight would go. Vegeta would still brazenly charge Black and I think Goku and Raditz would team up against Zamasu who would be hopelessly outclassed until Black used some trickery to dispatch of both Vegeta and Raditz. Zamasu and Black would gloat, Goku would get mad, Goku would attack, they might make the mistake of goading Raditz too and have two angry SSJB's with Rage amps on them. If this comes to pass this could be a major turning point for the story.Option one: Amped SSJB Goku and Raditz are both beaten by Black and Zamasu by some miracle. SSJRage Trunks would likely not happen yet because they would be too tired to anger Trunks after dealing with both Raditz AND Goku so they play it smart and tactfully fight Trunks who is overpowering them due to their tiredness. Vegeta still steps in and fights Zamasu. Trunks blasts Black who, when he stands up, is shaking a little instead of being unharmed. Trunks would still stay and hold off Black and Zamasu with them being more on the defensive than before. Bulma, Goku, Vegeta, and Raditz would escape back to the past. Again, things occur similarly for a bit, this time with all of the kids wanting to go help but being told no. Goku would still go o learn the Mafuba. Here I think Vegeta and Raditz would ignore their differences and go into the Hyperbolic Time Chamber together and kind of "Rage Train" against each other. From having someone to train with, Raditz and Vegeta would be throwing Zamasu and Black around without even thinking about it in the future. The time machine would still be destroyed. Due to the added warrior and increased power Black would use his Aura Scythe much sooner. However, in this scenario one of either Goku, Vegeta, or Raditz are able to escape the clones while the other two hold them off in order to pursue Zamasu. Whoever gets away from the clones reaches Zamasu and fights him so Trunks could properly learn the Mafuba. Zamasu is still sealed, Goku still forgets the seal and Zamasu escapes. Black and Zamasu fuse into Merged Zamasu and the Saiyans fight Merged Zamasu in vain (but a little more effectively.) Now, fusion time. Weather it's Goku + Vegeta or Goku + Raditz or even Vegeta + Raditz they would go SSJB and outclass Merged Zamasu until the fusion ran out. by this point Merged Zamasu is far more tired than before and I want to say that Trunks's Spirit sword is able to destroy Zamasu to the point that he is a disembodied consciousness without enough power to merge with the universe, ending the Future Trunks Arc.Option 2: Rage amped SSJB Goku and Raditz manage to kill Black and severely injure Zamasu. At this point Zamasu would likely use his "Kaikai" to move out of range of Goku's "Instant Transmission" in order to recover and reflect on the fight. Goku, Raditz, and Vegeta would return to their own timeline and go to Gowasu to find out where Zamasu might have gone. After this Goku would likely take Roshi and go into the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and learn the Mafuba in 5 minutes. Goku, Vegeta, and Raditz would probably all be together when they get the seal and pot and Vegeta would probably take the seal because he didn't trust anyone else with it. Back in the future they would collect Trunks and hunt down Zamasu who would be sealed away by Goku and given to Gowasu in order to be watched over, ending the Future Trunks Arc.

There is one thing I want to see with this Fusion, or from Ranch specifically. ...A full, Seven Days of the Week combo using alterations of Raditz's moves against Buu, and later developed into Super :3 Heck, she could even go creative and decide to go one step-further, combining days with months for stronger version of her attacks. I'd love me some Dynamite December or something, would prove to be a fun naming convention XD

This is my first time watching all of this series, and I have to say that it is amazing, such a wasted potential that it was to just kill Raditz, but I have one concern with this part, and that is the part when Ranten separates befores getting absorbed, I believe that it makes much more sense on them getting absorbed while they where fused so that way ultimate gohan and goku could struggle with a Buuten that has a better chance to give them that kind of trouble. Besides that, this series is amazing, true props to you masako for imagine it with all the work that it is making sense of a parallel story.

Dude I'm so pissed off that I am 2 years late to this whole series. Raditz has always been one of my favorite villains and I have ALWAYS complained with my friends about how they could have so easily used him throughout the story as a main character. You've given me my dream story line of DBZ having Raditz turn to the good side while maintaining the integrity of the core story. Im still salty they didnt even consider asking him. Goku considered HERCULE, but not Yamcha. Then he goes to the trouble of reviving a long time foe who's tried to destroy him and his loved ones on multiple occasions from the dead rather than a long time friend and ally that's been training and fighting with them for years and is the strongest person they know that was readily available...
