Strength of demons are scaled off of their strength as a human, and how much blood he received. Akaza probably would’ve given pretty a lot of blood to Kyojuro in attempt to make him stronger so he could fight with him, which would make him an uppermoon 3-4 or even 2.

I feel like they missed a huge opportunity because at the end of the fight the arm is still in rengokus stomach I think it would have been cool to like have the blood from the arm dripping into Rengoku and turning him into a demon because it is muzans blood so I think having him turn into a good demon and having a second fight against akaza would have been lit plus helping the plot by taking akaza out of the picture when needed

Rengoku forgets his promise he made with his Mother and becomes a demon, his transformation devastates all hashiras, mostly Kanroji Mitsuri and ubuyashiki kagaya. Tomioka Giyu and Kamado Tanjiro felt a lot a fatigue after defeating akaza or Hakuji. Tomioka attempts to take kamado to the battlefield where they can battle Kibitsuji Muzan, Rengoku jumps out of the shadows sending in his flame breathing technique before they could react. “Fire breathing first form, Unknowing fire!” The former hashira shouted slashing tomioka’s right arm when he attempted to brace for impact. “kyojuro! I thought you were dead!” Tomioka gripped his right arm in agony. Rengoku glanced at Tomioka, surprised he had survived such a powerful attack. “Tomioka, you hold a lot of power, join the demons you won’t regret it!” Rengoku casually explains. Tomioka ignores Rengoku’s protest. “Move out of the way coward. We have a demon king to defeat.” Tomioka calmly tries to walk around but rengoku puts his sword infront of Tomioka’s neck, He dodges with absolute shock. Kamado opens his eyes, realising that Rengoku was there. “Hinokami kagura!” Kamado exclaimed hitting his blade to rengoku’s neck. “Blood demon art-“ Kamado slices Rengoku’s arm off. He fell back and gagged whilst Kamado attempts to decapitate Rengoku. “Water breathing, Whirlpool!” Tomioka added in a shaky voice.
