I like the idea, and the stages do look cool, but they feel like they are in a completely different artstyle to the rest of Sonic 1. Sonic himself even looks out of place, it looks like there should be a more cartoony Sonic in his place.

Someone should make a Sonic 1 rom hack that merges these zones back into the game. THEN it would be the base for Sonic 1 being used in romhacks (like "Sonic Classic Heroes").
