I take it Kie's (Tanjiro's mom) maiden name was Asakura? Like Yoh? Also, it's not that shamans go directly to the afterlife, it's just that the shamans who died in the manga either have no business on earth or were devoured by Hao's spirit of fire.

Now I'm curios on what's going to happen when the story gets to the Train arc. Warning spoilers ahead for those who ever haven't seen the Demon Slayer Movie. The Spirits that are helping Tanjiro and the other Demon Slayers are going to freak out when everyone get's put to sleep by the demon on the train and will try to get Tanjiro to wake up or at least try to get Nezuko to help out a little sooner. But I'm more curious about what will happen when the one guy that tries to kill Tanjiro by destroying his soul core thing while he's still asleep.
