Hello! You forgot Loire-Atlantique in Brittany France which is an economic power house in Brittany (you used the administrative region which is highly disputed as not respecting neither history or the will of the people). Loire-Atlantique is also where you have the biggest number of Breton speakers and learners of the language. The french central government is afraid of Brittany so it maintains it administravely splitted to weaken it! Great video though :)

Why is part of Brittany missing?

Sad you're not including the Department of Loire-Atlantique in Britanny (they have a very strong historical claim to it, the major city in it (Nantes) being the historical capital of Brittany even.

And once again, Cumbria gets ignored. We do exist as well, y'know. We have a Celtic heritage of our own, a language, place names, heck even our regional name is Celtic (Cumbria is just an Anglicised name for Cymraeg).

And yet again, someone claiming to know something about the Celts ignores all the other forgotten Celtic tribes that could also have been included. They did exist ya know

We would love to learn more about other celtic regions! Do you have any suggested resources?

You are English not a Celtic nation soft lad.

This is an idea that I have considered for some time and I believe could work. One issue I have with this particular video is that it misses out another important Celtic Nation - The Basque area of southern France and northern Spain. A region that has its own language, heritage and culture and according to what I have seen, sufficiently similar DNA to be Celts too. I also agree with Fred Kay (below) that there are parts of Northern and Eastern England that have their own Celtic connections. The Welsh Marches - all the "English counties" bordering Wales - are littered with town and place names that speak to their heritage and history. At the end of the last Ice Age - 12,000 years ago - sea levels were 400 feet lower than they are today - the ancient Celts could have walked to each other across the shallows of the North West European continental shelf. Whilst the Romans, Vikings, Anglo-Saxons, Normans and Roman Catholic Church have all done their share to suppress and destroy Celtic culture - they have all failed and it survives to this day. As for future proofing a Celtic economic position. I disagree that the Pound / Euro / US Dollar is the way to go. The fiat currencies of "old" are dead men walking. We have to look to the future and align ourselves to those currencies and economies that are building the future now. Join BRICS and align our Celtic Currency to the Rouble and the Yuan? If that idea doesn't put the cat amongst the pigeons I don't know what will but it hopefully demonstrates how far out of the box we need to be thinking.

In wales there isnt any regret over brexit, we dont need anymore unelected bureaucrats telling us what to do. The only problem with Brexit is it hasnt properly happened yet. Ask any Scottish or Cornish Fisherman what he or she thinks of the EU boats raiding our waters. When your at the end of the line, the ocean is vital resource. We dont need EU raiders here.
@gaz995710 ай бұрын
Scotland voted 65% to remain in the EU so don’t dare think you speak for us. Fishermen are a minuscule percentage of the population and do not speak for us. If you want to go on and speak about unelected bureaucrats, look no further than our unelected PMs and the House of Lords, oh or even the Royals.

Then how will we British properly enact "BREXIT" (such as through the economics, culture, religion and society) in not just Wales, but also England, Scotland, Cornwall, the Isle of Man and Northern Ireland (which will likely go to the Republic of Ireland sooner or later)? Asking as someone who supported the remaining vote and would support returning to the EU, due to the current crisis we're going through.
@williamrutter361918 күн бұрын
@SirBolsón seeding power to unelected officials, will not help and these unelected officials have performed so poorly, we need more accountability not less. The reason we are all in the mess we are in today is institutions like the EU and NATO. Our safety in all regards financial and physical, relies on the good will of other nations, that we provoke daily. If we want to get on with the world we need to treat it better and sort our troubles at home. Unelected officials care nothing for ordinary people, only their pay and who pays them, lobbyists from the largest companies and property owners. If we were just a bit more honest and straight, run our country for ourselves and set a good example to others. Brexit would work and the world would be a more peaceful place.
@SirBolsón18 күн бұрын
@williamrutter3619 Then who is to help forward the "vanguard" of BREXIT in order to make sure everything goes smoothly, especially considering how most British and Irish politicians are usually in league with these unelected officials, lobbyists and big companies in general, with some hiding behind that corruption with fake populist rhetoric as a way to deter the people away from the foul play they're participating in?
@SirBolsón18 күн бұрын
@@williamrutter3619 Then who shall help spearhead the rest of brexit for the upcoming years in the future as most British and Irish politicians are in league with these same unelected officials?
