also if this is true, im very impressed for a multiple amount of reasons: the quality of the animation. the research that went into it. and, despite what we all expected, the planet wouldnt die. sure many deaths and much destruction, nothing humans couldnt recover from. im very pleased

The planet wouldn't die but life certainly would. The moon wouldn't break apart and magically turn to a thin ring. It would impact with the earth and kill everything. OK but say it did magical turn into a ring, well you can expect extreme climate shifts every couple hundred years or so. That may not be a big deal initially but a lack of a moon poses another threat to life and that's ecological systems. A lot of animals depend on tides without them they would die then the animals that depended on them would die and so on. So mass die offs should be expected, if mankind somehow manages to survive that it would be at a reduced number from billions to millions or less. When the extreme climate changes start happening then expect complex life to go extinct. That's not to say life can't evolve and adapt, if does it won't be humans or likely anything you see today. It be like the reset button had been pressed sort of like how the dinosaurs went. In conclusion life would be fucked lol

Sidenote: The roche limit only applies like this if the moon is closing in on the earth IN ORBIT. If it is propelled towards the earth at a remarkable speed it would still get torn apart but only from our atmosphere. The roche limit is based on tidal forces.
@milanstevic8424
@milanstevic8424 Жыл бұрын
And because the Roche limit is pretty near the surface of the Earth, many of the pieces would end up falling, in turn heating up the atmosphere and scar the surface, melt down the ice caps, acidify the oceans, and turn several continents into large igneous provinces for half a million years or more. Near-complete annihilation of all life would ensue.

@@TheoCrox They should be very small. Look at the damage done by the small rock (just 10 meters in diameter) in Russia in 2013. If they were rocks of hundreds of meters or a few km, I think we would end up like the dinosaurs. However, between wars and pollution humans will become extinct sooner.

Great graphics there! I don't think the moon would explode dramatically like that into big chunks. Earth's gravity would most likely knead the moon crust and upper mantle like a dough until bits and pieces of semi-molten rocks tear away from the core. Btw, i read that moon's core is actually slushy in nature and is constantly sloshing around below the mantle. And that earth doesn't just revolve around the sun, it actually wobbles around the sun due to the tug of the moon. Last but not least, if you ask me which i'd prefer, a moon or a ring around the earth, i'd vote for a ring.

I love the end that the Earth get rings like saturn, i also more like this video than part 1 because part 1 was like the bad ending and this the good ending because the rings would have the Moon's gravity and it would protect us from meteors and part 1 because the moons did not break into pieces and succesfully into Earth and more tips from part 2 that the Moon because of earths atmosphere and orbital gravitational pull the moon broke into pieces and became a ring around the Earth. bravo Incredible video:)
