Don't know if someone already mentioned on stream. But the hamster wheel is very good overall. Because you technically have the same amount of energy, but every card you draw costs one more and you gain one energy so it balances. However, you never would be able to play every card in your hand, so you start with 5 extra energies to distribute to as many cards as you like. But with Ice cream, it's where it breaks. You essentially gain one energy for each card you didn't play in a turn.

Also its very good with card that draw! Like yes your backflip costs 2 now, but since it draws 2, its like its costs 0. And dont get me started on acrobatics or calculated gamble. Hamster wheel is basically a free silent infinite discard deck

I've been playing the mod myself and I wish it also removed some of the vanilla cards. Even in the base game I often felt like the card pool was too big and this makes it even worse

I was struggling to evaluate Hamster Wheel because I saw +1 energy per draw, +1 cost per drawn card and decided that these cancelled out. However, even ignoring additional draw effects, retain, x cost cards and in-hand card generation, you draw 5 at the start of each turn. 3 energy base plus 5 for drawing = 8, and (assuming each card costs 1 base) every card now costs 2. 8/2= 4 cards playable, so it is a roundabout way of giving an extra energy. Obviously the maths gets more complicated with non-1-cost cards. Interestingly, because the game becomes balanced around 2 energy per strike, other energy generation relics become half as effective when you take hamster wheel.

What I still don't get about the funnel relic is this: if you use the energy after retaining it from previous turn, are you using up the old energy for which you have already received block or just the energy over the previous level, so the new one. Probably the latter I guess.

This interaction between funnel and ice-cream works as you'd expect in the STS mobile knockoff endless abyss. It only has Juggernaut and Silent, but has a couple interesting (and exploitative) mechanics that become necessary as the ascensions become way WAY harder later on. In the randomized daily store you can buy relics and cards with the premium currency and keep them outside runs. Depending on your characters level, you can edit an amount of your starting deck. You can exchange up to 3 basic cards with those cards you bought, and you can add another 2 if you want. Depending on your level, you can swap your starting relic and equip up to 2 more. Additionally, your characters have a passive ability skill tree to unlock with premium currency. So on the Juggernaut equivalent I start with lantern, ice-cream, and a bottled lightning. My starting deck has corruption which I bottle, barricade, a 3 cost 40 block card, an energy gain card, and body slam. An unlocked passive ability I have is "At the end of your turn, gain 3 block for each unused energy." I save energy wherever I can, play barricade and corruption, and use all my block cards. Unused energy is conserved and I gain 3 block for each unused energy every turn, making my block increase exponentially. After a few turns I have several hundred block and start killing enemies with bodyslam.

I think another thing that was less obvious about that relic interaction is that when you spend energy on the turn, is it coming from the fresh apples or from the cores? Or both? That might be where some of the inconsistencies were in the run itself, with the block at the end of the turn.

This mod doesnt seem particlarly balanced like the hamster wheel is net 0 cost increase for 1 cost cards but any time you have to deal with more expensive cards it just becomes broken - like you have 8 mana on your turn (by default) and 3 mana powers now cost 4. Like thats just broken on face value.
