It makes me curious is how the magic side always ended up more powerful than the science side when it was stated that originally magic was created due the inferior jealousy and envy of the normal people towards people with abilities since birth (which hundreds of years later academy city would discover these ability users are espers). Old Testament really sets up how the magic side contains a lot of flaws and in a way inferior to the science side. The saving index arc from the lies of the church, the artificial angel arc, etc. It seemed to me that magic was a very powerful source but not as reliable as esper power. (until we got the railgun spin off that poked some holes in how stable espers are). Then New Testament everything is flipped with those on the magic side(many of them) having already into the realm of god or at least close approaching. Until new Testament I was always under the impression that the magic side's strength relied on strength in numbers which in turn through devotion and faith was able to conjure large rituals that could over power any science side, but that no one had actually stepped into the true realm of god, that in the end it was still a human just with a ritual that gave them cheat like powers.

My personal belief is if Touma failed to saved Index he would take a dark path as you said but not as a villain but rather a fallen hero. At first, he would feel so depressed after failing to save Ayu but now Index as well to the point he thinks about killing himself. But after some pet talk (Could be anyone from Misaki, Mikoto, etc) he regains himself and after finding out the info on a person's memory by Komoe Touma starts to suspect something is fishy is going on and says fuck school to fly to England and expose the church's lies. Meanwhile, the Izzard stuff happens and also flys to the UK. In England, it becomes a three-way battle of Touma, Izzard, and the Church for Index's sake. After a long battle (everyone is down but Touma and a half-awake Kanzaki), Touma reaches inside St George's Cathedral where Lola is waiting with Index. Lola then tells Touma the truth about Index and even retells the story of St.George and the Dragon, she then activates John-Pen mode. Touma is backed into a corner and is about to be killed, however, the Church saves Touma after Kanzaki (who heard the awful truth and got everyone back up to save Touma knowing their bishop is evil and made fool out of the church and their duties). The Church deals with John-pen Index while Touma finally confronts Lola, pissed off the demon shows her true colors and uses her Magick Flaming Sword to end Touma's life in one shot, however, Touma just gets out of the way but his right arm is cut off by the sword. The Demon laughs in victory as the monster is about to finish Touma off. However, something pops out where Touma's right arm was, a giant swarm of Dragons, Fisheggs, an Invisible thing you name it! A deafening roar was heard and a blinding flash of light is seen, St George's Cathedral is torn apart and the whole place comes crashing down, everyone gets out but Touma, Lola, and Index. After the place has collapsed and with everyone out safely, a bloody spiky hair high school boy slowly walks out of the destroyed Cathedral carrying a young silver hair nun in his arms. Touma destroys the last of the demon's spell on Index. Index wakes up and sees Touma smiling and tears in his eyes, Index asks who are you? Touma with a smile tells her I'm just you normal everyday high school boy you can find anywhere after Touma collapses due to all the injuries he has. Aleister now knowing who Lola is (the demon's fate is left unknown for now) gets his plans moving and the story of Index is born.

You know an evil Touma actually happened, in the Virtual On manga, when Misaka was Fre/ndad and Index was kidnapped by the villain, Touma finally couldn't take it anymore and snapped. He legit asked Accelerator to stop him in case he does something drastic, after that both Touma and Accelerator went to the hospital to interrogate a guy who worked for the villain. Touma then proceeded to absolutely terrify the guy out of his wits without even lifting a single finger, even Accelerator commented that he was scary

This was a pretty interesting video! It reminds me of the Re:Zero IF routes where Subaru becomes a psychopatic maniac instead of the person that he grew into over the course of the main story. However, unlike Subaru, Touma isn't an asshole and I don't think that Touma will suddenly turn evil from not being able to save Index. He might become more manipulative and selfish in his actions like as shown in the video, but he will refuse to bring unrelated people into his problems (unlike Aureolus who took advantage of Himegami). He's a good person by nature and even with his memory loss, the "core" of Kamijou Touma remains unshaken. He's so good at being himself that 90% of the cast doesn't even know that he lost his memories in the first place and one of Index's main theme is 'True Will' or being who you truly are. Ultimately, the only circumstance where I feel like he could turn evil is if someone close to him were to be murdered and he has a 0% chance of saving them no matter what he does. That's just how I feel though, I'm not the Toaru man 😂. Also, this is unrelated but I think a video on the many theories surrounding Touma's dragons could be interesting. Namely, the Hadit, Philospher's Stone, and Lucifer theories.

@@typecrimson2285 Because he's selfish and only cares about himself at the beginning. He claims to "love" Emilia and cares for her but he doesn't even once consider about her feelings. He blames other people for his own irrational behaviour and worthlesness. He became a NEET just because he isn't the centre of attention. The list goes on and on. I mean let's compare arc 1-3 Subaru to 4-7 Subaru the difference in his personality is quite drastic. Perhaps "asshole" wasn't the correct label but he is very susceptible to evil and despair (as shown by the many routes that would've turned him into a villain).

A black haired teenage boy, have a very overpowered yet cursed ability. turn villainous due to failing to save a silver haired girl (who is the main heroine) that he met only for day, then blaming a redhead and a swordman for it. Then teaming up up with one of the early villains of the series just for said silver haired girl that didn't even remember his name. Fighting down an entire church-like organization. "Dying" at the end. This sounds kinda familiar.... Oh yeah Re:Zero Pride IF Story!!!! All you need is Touma taking down the Archbishop, and have a busty assassin onee-chan and a cute murder loli as his Sidekick then its complete lol. Joke aside. Its a very nice video. Its nearly exactly how I imagine it would go. Kinda disappointed that it end so fast tho. Was kinda wishing it was two parter or something but oh well. For idea for the next What IF, how about you continue it from arc to arc. This one starts from Index Arc, so the next one could start from Deep Blood. Like what if KnT manifested instead of the Dragon when Touma's Arm was cut off by Izzard? P.S. I'm calling this video Toaru Pride IF Story from now on cuz I'm too much of a ReZero fanboy. Tbh not THAT much would change. Aliester wouldv died, but he did that anyway. Accel Plat wings and Touma with fish eggs would still be able to take Coronzon, Aliester would just be much more sad and depressed throught that whole encounter. A few more people wouldv died too but oh well

Honestly? I've never thought Touma would become the antithesis of... Well, himself. But you're somewhat correct. Touma, first of all, is a teenage boy. A highschool boy with too many misfortunes and terrible life where they don't give him a darn if he's crying or shattering apart. So if he puts his mind to it and fail, all because he blamed his misfortune, well... It's no surprise he'll be bitter and vengeful to everything that made him unable to save Index. The person he promised and screw up badly, by this possibility alone confirmed he's very human at heart. Debatable, but still very human. Kamijou no Touma technically another matter even though stems from the manifestation of Touma himself. And considering the Nature of imagine breaker, even if Touma fail to get index, it's also unlikely he got killed even if Dragons breath wipe his memory. Well, it could. But a little tidbit about maximum amount of bad luck towards it's wielder. Imagine breaker definitely will make him survived the ordeal for future pain, and what's more unlucky than knowing your past selves had done terrible thing and he has no way to make up for it as the world are against him when he's literally on his own? If he manage to recuperate enough and understood the position he's in. Okay, that took a bleak turn. But Touma was infamous on that theme, so Touma going in Izzard but survived and have to deal with the aftermath of his actions, is going to suck. But plausible, since light novel about him should have him on it obviously. But this also rather ironic if Aleister could turn it in his favor just with more hands on approach on Touma's fate if he was the one to fill him in about everything, or having someone to do that and get our boy bearing together. The theme could also point to "be better than his past, to never fail someone again by never failing himself again" is also very poetic, and as tragic as the main Touma too. Sure, it changes many things, like... Dozens of them. As Canon was ripped apart and stuffed to the trash can if did Touma fail to save index and paid the consequences when he have no memories of it, but I dare to say some of original events still could happen, just not in the same way. So to speak. Then again, I'm here just hoping that Kamachi could just end the tease and get someone to properly give Touma the love and care he deserves after so many bullcrap thrown to direction every single day.

Mathers even made contact with Coronzon too, and since Coronzon belongs to Horus or above the concept of Aeons as she would put it (as she doesnt like Aleister or his way of things) then that pretty much implies Mathers had knowledge of what Aleister would later term as the Aeon of Horus, after he made contact with Aiwass in 1904. So the GD utilised magic from all three aeons, GD was inspired by Ancient Egypt and Judaism from Isis, then you had Christians like Dion Fortune and Mathers/Aleister mastering Christian magic from Osiris despite not believing in it and then you also have the Horus stuff which was mainly just Mathers and Aleister trying taboo shit and understanding the secrets of the world with the Abyss of Sephiroth/Enochian magic with Coronzon and later Aiwass. Hope this makes sense.

A few things (spoilers for latter novels (NT11 and Biohacker)) 1) While OT 2 did say Touma would turn evil or cynical if he lost Index, I dont think it would actually be the case. Biohacker wasnt released at that time, and in that book we actually see, that he DOES fail to save someone. And he just keeps on going. He even decides to be friends with Misaki, who was a part of the reason Touma failed to help Auy 2) I am not sure Ars Magna would even work, if its not near his Grigorian chant people in the Cram school. I doubt it will work this far away in England. 3) even if it does, I dont see how would they be able to defeat anglical knights in englihs. With the blessing of Curtana second they are too strong and fast. Its basically hundreds of just below saint level characters. 4) Index would most likely not react in disbelief. She would know that there are magicians who are after her 103 thouthand grimuars. And she is really calm and collected when in the life or death scenarious as seen when she fights the Golem. Its not gonna be much help though tbf. 5) Touma wanting to kill Laura seems really out of character for him. Even if he turns evil, its basicaly going against everything he stands for as a person. Although its pre memory loss Touma so I guess he could have a bit different values.

1. Index might have been the final straw for Touma. And even in Biohacker, I feel Touma cared a lot more for Index than he did for Ayu. Also I trust Kamachi's word lol. 2. As far as I remember there wasn't a specified range as the Gregorian chant was already complete. Izzard just chose to remain there in the series so he can stop anyone from interfering with the students/building. 3. Thats if you wanna scale all the fodder knights to Knight Leader, who is definitely wayyyy stronger than the others. 4. Not at that per say, but the fact that Touma was talking to her like he knew her and wanted for her to remember him, and that he clearly doesnt look like a magician. 5. ........you do realise this is a fanfic? Izzard had no qualms killing people, and Kamachi stated Touma would be like him. I'm taking the authors word for it lol.
