I like how you made Vegeta actually get reminded of his crimes and be punished for it in a sense. That is one of the major problems that fans have had with Vegeta redemption. He doesn’t actually pay for his crimes and goes without consequence as a result. I liked how you expanded on it and more with Vegeta’s father too and made it into just that more of an interesting story.

This is something that's always bothered me too about Dragon Ball. Vegeta literally committed genocide many times throughout his life yet the Z-Fighters seem to just forgive him for that. It's so bizarre that it became a running joke between my friends and I growing up lol

The way every action flashed back to harm him, from him blowing the audience in the tournament to him ending a disabled Nappa, it feels in a way, cathartic. True atonement for his sins. The Namek Brawl was also legendary as Vegeta fought actually two warring sides banded together through revenge towards their murderer.

This is psychological torture at its finest. But as messed up as it is, I really can't say Vegeta doesn't deserve it. Funnily enough, this story could tie in very well with Vegeta's later development. In the Super manga he starts showing direct regret over his past actions, has accepted the fact that he'll go to hell, and admits the saiyans deserved to die.
