Seen these models so often on the Tom and Ben stream but usually as just one lad. Seeing the whole factions and the ganeplay really sells it. I will definitely check it out and the new starter box looks tempting
@Savayan2 ай бұрын
They're doing a new 'essentials' new player set with the new edition that comes with two sides of three minis each, a bit of card stock terrain and dice and tokens. It's a low entry cost option to see if you enjoy the game: if you don't you've got six generic sci fi minis you can use for whatever and aren't too far out of pocket.

Corvus Belli’s Infinity is the best miniature war game ever put to paper.
@wisecrack45452 ай бұрын
Hands down best skirmish game I've ever played. Been there since 1st edition. Love the models, the lore and the rules. Each major faction has distinctive flavour and play style., along with plenty of options to further expand with various sub-faction groups within them, all whilst still retaining an open-list building system allowing you to pick and choose whatever you want to run. Can really go to town to create your own personalized unit. Highly recommend it to everyone.

Just as a heads up, the new box is not for beginners. If you are looking to get into it they are releasing an essentials box. It's a lot cheaper, 3 minis each, some card terrain and is aimed at folk who are just getting started

For those who haven't played Infinity, definitely pick it up and give it a go, even if you just use the free rules and free army builder to run a test game with some other miniatures. It's the best miniature game I've ever played. It's basically a cyberpunk XCOM. They didn't even get into hacking where you can turn off people's power armour or melt other hackers brains etc.

Every time I see content for this game I'm reminded how cool it seems, but then I'm also reminded they're metal minis. That gives me pause as I've never worked with it and super glue is a pain in the ass.
@Ninjat1262 ай бұрын
Try a "gel" super glue, I've had great success on Infinity minis with Loctite gel. Old Infinity models can be a bit of a hassle but the current ones are much, MUCH easier to assemble. All S2 infantry (human-sized) are metal, and should be so for the foreseeable.

This feels very much Cyberpunk XCom. What with the reactions and all. You had a nice board setup.
@Ninjat1262 ай бұрын
There's a lot of similarities with XCom 2011, for sure. Two actions per activation, being out of cover is death, hidden information & camouflaged enemies, using explosives to bypass cover... There's also similarities to the classic games. Reaction fire is a constant threat, lucky plasma crits are death for basically anyone, drones are easier to replace than people, smoke blocks lines-of-fire...

It seems interesting, but also seems to have the same issues Warhammer has. The first player to go has a pretty big advantage as they can kill a bunch of your units before you ever get to use them, which just compounds with then taking less damage back in return since they've got less orders now and just snowballs from there.
