I just came to say that because of Dave Ramsey next week is my last and final school loan payment. I listened and listened time and time again to the show, and I got intentional and cheap and now next week is my last payment. I can finally take off the chains. I am no longer a prisoner to the system that keeps people from building wealth.

My advice to everyone is that saving is great but investment is the key to be successful imagine investing $15,000 and received $472,700.

Unfortunately, not all of us were financially literate early. I was 35 when I finally educated myself and started taking steps. I went from $176,000 in debt with zero savings or retirement to now, 2 years later, fully debt-free and over $1000,000 net worth. I know that doesn't SOUND like a lot, but I'm incredibly proud of it. Now I'm fast-tracking my wealth building (investing $400,000 annually) and don't owe a dime to anyone. It's a good feeling!

Dr. John, as a combat veteran, your advice for the vet out in TX was spot on. Thank you for getting how it is, I needed to hear this advice as well.

Sam, the Vet, can also take a class in his area in community college to get an update on his resume - and that will also give him some connections.

Wealthfront is the one I use it was 5% interest now it is 4.25% it is nice because you can have categories for saving goals and automatic transfers

Ive been using Ally for awhile. No complaints. It might not be the absolute highest interest rate you can find but I'm not worried about chasing an extra 0.1 percent for an emergency fund

The vet needs to figure out why he doesn’t believe what he says about raising children being the most important job it is and he has an opportunity to raise the future not play with computers 🤦🏼♀️
@SaltyZera4 сағат бұрын
It’s not that he doesn’t believe it. He’s just pressured by society. It’s very difficult as a man to explain to other men why you don’t work. For a vast majority of individuals, that’s an immediate turnoff. They think you’re either a freeloader or just lazy. Not that he’s sacrificing his own goals and aspirations for his children and wants to ensure they have as many forever memories with their father as possible. Idk if I would be so quick to judge the guys choice of words. I’m sure he does believe it. But like John said, “you cannot manifest belief. You have to take action in order for that belief to become your reality.”

@shibdassarkar9357 I work in data analytics at a lower management level but I'm not divulging details beyond that on an open forum. There are plenty of comparable high paying IT roles across the country for those willing to put in some work to land one. Took me 12 months to land it after graduating since it is highly competitive. Have a strong LinkedIn profile, clearly articulate your value, make yourself easy to find and find unique ways to stand out. The average person is not tough competition.

I used to be annoyed by dave cutting people off, but after seeing these guys let people go on and on i can see why dave does it lol honestly I'd rather hear more calls than be stuck on a call for almost 10 minutes. Also, to be honest john that whole moral spill was at best condescending and at worst virtue signaling. You have a nice watch on were all the materials used for that watched obtained by ethical labor? How about your clothes? Are those ethically manufactured? Stick to the numbers and rational explanations, not your moral sense of superiority.

People get different interest rates for mortgages all the time (and often people qualify for more they can actually afford)...how is that any less predatory to others than your CC cash back argument?? I just don't understand this as a moral issue. My managing money responsibly is not causing someone else to misuse theirs.
