For Three Houses, I'd say Randolph or Gwendal should have been the recruitable ones. Gwendal would be easy enough in Azure Moon if he could be convinced to prioritize loyalty to the King over loyalty to House Rowe, OR we could just promise him really good fights to come. Randolph would be harder, but I think if Caspar defeated him, something could be wrangled in all non-AM routes.

I understand choosing Pheros for Awakening, but a great alternative would be Mustafa. it could be done by visiting one of the villages in an earlier chapter, causing his family and the other villagers to become refugees and go to Ylisse, meaning Gangrel doesnt have leverage anymore. Maybe even make him recruitable by Robin instead of Chrom, which would be pretty unique
@moltz48663 жыл бұрын
I was not expecting this one to be so long. Consider me surprised! To contribute the topic: In Mystery of the Emblem, I guess more or less everyone from Eremiya's assassin gang could be made recruitable (sans Eremiya herself) given their tragic and depressing circumstances, which has a ton of support potential. Edit: Also Pheros' idea is pretty good! There also aren't that many playable units fit for the Valkyrie class besides Maribelle, so having another option would be pretty neat.

I always thought that a Camus typically fought against the protagonist out of loyalty to their country. Lonato joined the church rebels because he wanted revenge for his son's execution. He doesn't really answer to a higher lord or king despite being in the kingdom. If anything, he betrays the other kingdom lords by trying to rebel against the Church of Seiros. His personality traits fit in with other Camus though, so there is that.

Fargus, he would join you near the end of the game among with Nils with two conditions: 1-Dart is alive and has at least one support space left. 2-The combined level of your lords is 75 or higher. For the Dart condition before going to battle, he will tell him something, as soon as starting the chapter you can support them, the support chain will basically go about how they met, in the A support he will reveal Dart that his name is not Dart and revealing somewhat of the truth I guess. The lords condition is simple, Fargus’s bases will be very high, for that, your lords have to be strong enough, he will recognize their strength and growth joining them, of course you have to train your lords (idk, promoting the three at lvl 20 and when promoted the three are at least lvl5), your reward is the unit with strongest bases in the game.

I was hoping to see Sigune on this list, and I wasn't disappointed. What wasn't mentioned with her is that Roy's army is approaching under the name of the *Etrurian Army*. So when Sigune is talking with her subordinate, she's under the assumption that it's just Etruria coming to conquer them, and that they're no different from Bern. Which is made so much worse when you remember what Etruria was doing to the people of the Western Isles, and Roartz/Arcard's corruption. I would also add Zelot to the list of people who could defeat and recruit her. Not only is Sigune supposed to be Juno's best friend/rival, and Zelot should be more inclined to spare her, but Zelot originally met Juno as a hired enemy before he got to know and marry her. Then on top of that, Zelot is the one who's responsible for rebuilding, reviving, and becoming Ilia's first king in his ending. Not only does he have experience keeping enemy Ilian mercenaries alive, but he cares the most about Ilia itself, so I've always had the headcanon that him defeating her has her survive. Same for any of the generic pegasus/falco knights you face throughout the game.

Nice list. A few choices of my own: FE2/15 - Magnus: More for his SoV self, but he does show Alm a lot of respect as a fellow warrior. Granted, he is a Baron, but he'd probably be the best lategame one in the party, and a great potential pitchfork choice. FE7 - Sealen: Admittedly part of this is just because it'd give us a nomad in Hector's route far earlier than Rath (or even Uhai if he was recruitable) FE9 - Nedata: C'mon, this pirate's got his own theme and everything! Plus like with Havetti he'd be pretty unique as a playable Bandit. FE10 - Veyona: Being the only Druid boss by default makes this guy interesting enough to want, but he also seemed to really dislike the senators he's set to protect. Probably wouldn't be too hard to get him to just switch sides. Plus he doesn't appear to really hate the Laguz like most of the Begnion minor bosses. FE13 - Raimi: She's by far the easiest one to justify, since she's not a villain and didn't even die in her boss chapter. All they'd have to do is let her join at a higher level a bit later, possibly at the beginning of the Valm arc. FE14 - Zola: It's a shame he died so soon after being 'recruited' in Birthright, he could've been a fun chance to see things from the other side. FE16 - Judith: Okay, this one is kind of a cheat, esp. since she's only a boss on CF and I'd want her recruited on SS and VW, but really, why not have her be playable in those? She's clearly with you in them, esp. in VW, and it'd give a special recruit for them!

I always wanted Zola to be recruitable. My idea for Zola recruitment would probably be that instead of Garon killing him in the opera house before the chapter starts, Zola just narrowly dodges Garon's attack, but he is still heavily wounded. The chapter starts him as an ally and surrounded by enemies: the idea being that you have to use rescue or find some way to get him out of there quick before the enemies all completely wreck him. Sure, Zola is an evil guy, but now that he has nowhere left to go, Corrin sees this as an opportunity to change someone's life around and recruits him into the army. As far as gameplay goes, it would give birthright players one dark mage to use for nosferatu (though I think you need to visit a conquest castle online to even get dark magic in birthright) and to have another Nohr class in their army. Zola's personal skill could have something to do with the wound he got from Garon, like maybe he has some kind of fury skill that makes him do alot of damage at the cost of recoil. I dont think there's any playable dark mages in birthright outside of making corrin one, so Zola would certainly be unique. I always loved Zola for some reason and would have 100% married him in birthright.

Honestly, I think that if you made Aias recruitable, you should do the same with Beran. Since Aias only appears on Eirika Route, Beran could be his Ephraim Route counterpart. Beran is a Ranger who serves under Valter in a defense map, making him a counterpart to Aias in more ways than one. If he survives the map, he flees with a boat to avoid being killed by Valter for his failure. He could then join on the ghost ship map right after as a green unit, where he could be recruited. Being a Ranger, he would greatly help against the Gargoyles on that map.

Some of my thoughts: FE2/15 - Are we considering Fernand a Camus? I'd rather get him. Yeah Alm's route already has 4 cavs at that point but eh. FE4 - You can already make Arion green in the final chapter of FE4 so making him blue would be extremely easy. FE10 - I was hoping it would be Kezhda. His unique model looks neat. Surprised by the PoR choice. I was thinking Homasa. He would not be the most unique unit, given you have Ike, Zikark, and possibly Stefan if you know how to get him, but when I first played through the game I thought he might be recruitable. The way I would have him be recruited is to have Naesala retreat after talking with Reyson. Afterwards he would need to be defeated by Ike or Stefan. He mentions in his Ike conversation that he is fighting the way his father taught him, the same as Ike, which I think could lead to Ike showing mercy. With Stefan, he mentions that Homasa is no match for him and this enrages Homasa. I could see Stefan defeating him but not killing him, saying that although he is not strong yet, he sees potential in him. He would probably support with the different swordsmen in the group as he wants to improve, as well as Jill as she also defected, and a laguz, maybe Lethe or one of the hawks. He would not stand out much from the rest of the pack, but I can easily see a way for him to be recruited.

Strange Answer. FE:TH - Kronya. She'd be a fascinating character to have on the team, being the only Agarthan PC, and considering she murdered Jeralt. Recruited after being abandoned by Solon, her character arc would revolve around everyone distrusting her, and her cynical world view. After all, this is how she was raised, that the weak need to be strong to be worthy. This old man, Jeralt, was weak so if he was worthy, he should have better defended himself. She'd be used on particularly nasty missions during the war. Eventually she'd learn to empathise with others and in her A support with Byleth, she'll have stolen and read Jeralt's diary, learn that he was a good wholesome person with no backstabbing agenda. He selflessly cared about his child, and Kronya learns that it's not all a zero-sum game. She apologies to Byleth for her actions 5 years ago. My idea is that she would barely escape, and then some time later Eliwood and co. would find her fighting off other morphs. They ultimately decide to save her, and she decides to join them in rebellion against Nergal for deceiving her. Nergal could control her and force her back against her new allies, but he finds this turn of events amusing and instead allows her to fight with them so he can witness what his creation is capable of. It would make for a playable morph, which I think would be really interesting, and she doesn't already appear in Light so there'd be nothing to change there. She could even have some special quotes with Brendan, Lloyd, and Linus.

23:09 I don't know about Pallardo being a good dude to recruit lol. Three Houses doesn't really have any characters for this slot as most bosses are either faceless mooks or they're super dedicated to their liege lords with characters like Judith, Rodrigue, Ladislava, and Randolph all basically being Camus style characters in their own way. Honestly, I feel like Indech might be the best choice. That is, if they rolled back on his "No longer able to take a human form" limitation.
@TornaitSuperBird2 жыл бұрын
I agree with Indech. Plus, it kinda bothers me that the beast/dragon transformations in 3H are all virtually irreversible, save for maybe two of them (even though they all revert when they die). Having Manaketes and other characters with beast forms be playable units throughout a good portion of the series, only to have them be relegated to enemies or npcs in 3H makes me severely disappointed. Plus, there's not really many "playable badass" moments in 3H, either. I would have loved to see a section where you could play as a beast/dragon, and absolutely wreck the enemy units (or turn an unfair fight against high-level enemies into a fairer one). I love 3H, but the previous games before it like Awakening make me feel a bit better as a player, in my opinion.

For me it would be either Berkut from Gaiden/Echoes or Lloyd or Linus from Blazing Sword (depending on who you killed first). Berkut (being saved after meeting special conditions and heal his corruption) could have interesting supports majorly dealing with his grief and guilt over sacrificing Rinea, possibly finding closure that doesn't nececssarily need to happen through a new romance. He even could have special dialogue when facing Duma. While not being able to kill him, he was corrupted by his power and definitley would have unfinished business with him. While the deaths of Lloyd and Linus are well executed and understandable, especially if you face the second brother, it always bothered me that you never got to play more members of the Black Fang aside from Nino and Jaffar.

I would actually make a case for Zola, at least in Birthright Normally he betrays you, but he actually wants to bring Corrin back to Nohr, and asks Garon to spare them, showing he had a soft spot for them. I would make him simply be playable after he's captured in story, but then you'd have to get a certain support level for him to survive. Either the scenario changes so that he's not the one to sell you out, or he just gets lucky with the power of friendship. Whatever the case, I would have that replace Kaze's conditonal survival because that never made sense to me in the slightest.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Selena cares about the people more than Brunya, therefore she has more reasons to change side (because she trusts Duessel and not necessarily Ephraim).

For every game I've finished: FE4 Gen 1: Clement - The Duke of Mackily is one of the few Agustrian lords to tries to stay out of the conflict with Grannvale. It is only upon Anphony's defeat and concern of a total invasion arises that he decides to set up ballistae and readies his Sleep staff. I could see maybe letting Lachesis, Edain, or Deirdre speak with him to inform him that Sigurd's only intention is to help the people of Agustria and free Eldigan. Mackily would then become an allied castle for the rest of the chapter, and Clement would join Sigurd to dethrone Chagall at the start of the map. FE4 Gen 2: Arion - Arion joining as an allied unit at the end of the game will never not feel a tad odd to me. Not much else to say. FE4 Overall: Just more recruitable Arena enemies would've been cool. FE6: Stater - If Galle is not an option, then I'd go with Slater, the Bernese knight assigned to Castle Araphen by Narcian. He seems genuinely terrified of what Narcian would do to him if he were to fail. Being able to convince him to abandon Bern with Elen could be an interesting addition, and a convo between him and Narcian in Ch 16 would be great. (I mulled over a parallel for Sigune in Sacae, but all the bosses are either Djutes firmly aligned with Bern [and against Kutolah] or Kel, who is devoted to Brunnya.) FE7: Teodor - A bit of an odd pick, but I really wasn't feeling like saying Uhai or Erik. He's a member of the Black Fang, known as the Shadow Hawk. He is heavily invested in the study of dark magic, willing to push himself to the same extremes as Brammimond and Nergal. I could see him being recruited by Canas, convincing him to not throw away his years of studying the dark arts, and that the two of them could help each other grow as Druids. Of course, balancewise, this is awful, since you just got Canas and can now replace him with no investment, but since when has FE cared much with that? FE9: Tomenami - A bit of a copout answer, but I definitely think you should have recruited him by keeping at least 10 of the Clerics alive. As a more interesting answer, Seeker, the Raven from Chapter 12. He is merely a thief. Maybe Sothe could talk to him, say that there's plenty of better things to steal in their destination of Begnion or something. Anything to get an actual playable Raven. FE11: Yeah I really have no idea besides Orridyon. I was thinking Sternlin, a member of the Sable Order, with Marth being able to convince him, and possibly giving the player false hope in being able to recruit Camus. But the man is uncertain on Camus himself, and seems to be very patriotic. FE13: Cervantes - Are you not enamored by this man's magnificent mustache? ...That's what I thought. Cervantes is just a joy who absolutely should've been a Spotpass character. He probably survived a lethal blow, saw it as yet another blessing of his whiskers, realized Walhart fell, and went off to find another powerful man to follow. Chrom would end up defeating whoever that someone happened to be, and Cervantes would just be like "Well, you've toppled two of the greatest men alive. Perhaps it is you who will rule this world?" FE14 Birthright: Zola - Birthright is the only route where this mischievous mage really shines, and is attempted to be shown as a pitiable man torn between loyalty to a country he has been banished from or to the people who already gave him a second chance. Except the game does this awfully. He should have been made playable from Chapter 10, then either a) betray you in Cyrkensia, not get killed, then re-recruited by Takumi or b) not betray you when Corrin/Takumi have a C support with him. FE14 Conquest: Kilma - Don't have anything to add. FE14 Revelation: Anthony - Hear me out: *playable Faceless*. FE14 Overall: Just give Captureables supports. FE15: Xaizor - Again, nothing to add. No real options for Celica's side, and the only other Alm side character I could kinda see is Magnus. FE16 Crimson Flower: Metodey - It's simple: don't kill him in Chapter 11, and he should be usable in Chapter 12. FE16 Azure Moon: Gwendal - Upon seeing Dimitri with his own eyes, I'd expect him to find new motivation to stay alive. If need be, Ingrid (or Yuri) could have a recruit convo, reminding him of the importance of a knight's devotion to their king. FE16 Verdant Wind: Pallardo - Nothing to add. Your reasoning for Claude to hire him makes a lot of sense.

For fe4 I say Voltz a minor antagonist and friend of Beowolf. It won't mess with the story/ map events as much as Istore. To recruit him you have to pay him 9000 gold the reason is that it is implied in the conversation between him and Beowolf that Voltz is less known the Beowolf so he would be worth less than Beowolf. For Fe7 I say Eagler a minor antagonist in Lyn mode. As he is loyal to Caelin him joining Lyn's group makes sense to me. In order to join your team, he has to battle Lyn (So he see the resemblance to her mother), Wallace (So he can try to converse him to believe Lyn is the daughter of Madelyn), and maybe Kent/Sain. Gwendal (Blue Lions only) would be convinced to join by Gilbert/ Rodrigue if defeated Dimitri. Or instead of that if he battles and is defeated by Yuri he will join if I had to pick between the two I would pick Yuri since they knew each other before the game.

Bloom's children are both good kids and in a perfect world you could recruit them both. Yes to recruiting Uhai. He'd be a good unit to have if you want a mounted archer before you have access to Rath, especially in Dragon's Gate where you have to cut your way through the crowds to get the Member Card and recruit Legault. For FE9...does Bryce count as minor, or a Camus? Because I liked his battle convo with Ike a lot. Disregard my original comment about Mustafa, he's a Camus. I always did find Pheros a bit interesting from what little we saw of her, I'd be down with her as a SpotPass recruit. Kilma, huh...father and daughter supports, then? Nice. Pallardo? Well, him getting supports would mean 3H would have to finally give us some damn Anna supports. (Seriously, WHY?!) I would've personally gone with Lonato solely because Ashe deserves nice things.

I know it’s a little meme-ey, but Batta from fe7 would be kinda cool. Lyn could recruit him during the tutorial, maybe he begs her to join after seeing his one other man get killed and seeing that Lyn has him on the ropes. He would be the only brigand in fe7 (and might have connections to the brigand recruitable character in fe6 just to be cute), he wouldn’t be that amazing of a unit having decent strength, defense, and luck. But maybe mediocre speed and res. He could also have this cool character arc, starting off as a brigand in Lyn’s army who acts pretty full of himself, but over time, and through supports, kind of realizes just how shitty of a person he was for promoting and actively reveling in brigandry. I thought it was a fun idea lol

This is basically one of my favorite parts of Fire Emblem, so I'll be indulgent and add my own list from the ones I've played. Shadow Dragon: Gazzak. Caeda's rhetorical skill and empathy are commonly held as some of her greatest strengths: here, as Marth wins the first battle, she might prove herself alongside him. After all, she has a habit of earning the unwavering loyalty of rough-and-rowdy types through an act of mercy. Besides, he's the first boss ever. He might as well get a little accommodation. Valentia: Gharn. His name can't be pure coincidence, considering Zeke and... other factors. Lots of potential here, and it could make a fascinating segue into the postgame revelations. FE7: Brendan Reed. If (by the defeat of his manipulator) he might come to realize everything that's been taken away from him... he'd have a lot to fight for. Sacred Stones: Yeah, Aias. See above. Path of Radiance: Rajaion. Yes, I know. Just, somehow. Radiant Dawn: Veyona. There's clearly no love lost between him and his superiors, and if the defeat somehow sent him to Micaiah's side, he could make an interesting, slightly less stoic parallel to Soren. Awakening: I'd say Mustafa, but I can't see him joining without his squad, and indeed joining with the ones who killed them. Instead... Cervantes, invoking the Oliver funnyman clause. Fates: Zola got a raw deal! Let him finish the redemption arc he starts. Alt take: Tarba as a mandatory recruit, with the shocking twist backstory: he's an Outrealms baby himself, discarded by a certain bald, ruthless father days ago. Three Houses: Mr. "The Immovable". Without saying too much, I wanted to reunite him with an old friend.

The real problem with Mustafa is that his family is on the line, he straight up says that if he leaves then his family back home is done for.

@kuyagab44442 жыл бұрын
Given that Pallardo wont be recruitable in Azure Moon, how about we give that to Rowe? The condition is to simply defeat him while choosing to spare Ashe, or have Yuri deployed during that level since both Ashe and Yuri have connections with him. He may doubt Dmitri's leadership rather questionable but Ashe or Yuri could reassure him that Byleth will keep him in check and steer him into the right path.

22:55 I mean yeah, she is just really horrendous on bases and level for where she comes in. Though I always find that Witch's Mark (Witch class) really helps her get a quick start if you save it for her. Also the Witch class outfit really suits her. Due to her Dark Magics but also for me the fact that the witch hat works perfectly for her, unlike most units.

Path of Radiance: Petrine. First off, she seems a lot more like Soren, except she also seems to be beaten down by how everyone above her threatens her. As a branded, she probably tries way too hard to prove her lot in life. would make sense for her to also switch sides as she doesn't seem to be attached to Daein pride so much as self pride.

For Engage I'd absolutely say Abyme! She even reappears as a boss again, reclassed after her previous defeat. When I saw that she had come back I was sure there would be a way to recruit her

Fire Emblem 1: Gazzak. Because I have a soft spot for the bandits. Fire Emblem 2: The Character I don't recruit from those 2 bosses. Lazy choice, but my choice nonetheless Fire Emblem 3: Legion, I gotta agree here. Fire Emblem 4: Voltz Fire Emblem 5: Gomes Fire Emblem 6: Sigune Fire Emblem 7: Limstella Fire Emblem 8: Aias, going with him, he seems reasonable and I like his spirit. Path of Radiance: I agree with others in the Comments with Petrine, she's pretty fun. Radiant Dawn: Veyona Awkening: Gecko- Naw I'm fucking with you, of course it's Mustafa, I think most people agree on this one. Fates: Zola Three Houses: There's only 2 remotely good options, that being Kostas (I like the idea of him being captured, revealing that it was all a plan by the Flame Emperor, and offering to fight for them as revenge.) and Kronya (Cause I wanted an Agarthan Party Member and the other 2 were too plot important.) Not to mention there's alot of good plot potential here. And real quick, while we a on the subject, I wish Big Bossing- I mean Fultoning- I mean Branding- I mean Capturing was a mainstay mechanic in the series, and that they expanded on it a little bit. It's such a fun mechanic. Edit: I wrote each choice after the 3rd game before watching, I am very amused how many of my choices lined up with yours.

21:34 I'd make a case for Zola in Birthright tbh. I think he _should_ have been playable, but then again, I'm a massive sucker for villains-turned-heroes. I find his betrayal super fucking stupid in the main story.

I’m genuinely surprised he didn’t say Ruemay from Chapter 8 in Thracia. The guy clearly isn’t fighting cause he wants to and I think an early game dracoknight wouldnt be too broken given having another flier in chapter 9 would be immensely helpful. Plus in order to reach 8x you have to save Ruemay anyways

For Echoes, it would detract from the hopelessness (although it's not really addressed, only alluded to after the fact) but it would have been awesome if Marla and Hestia could have been captured and un-brainwashed like Celica. Then, to see a happy reunion with Sonya in the post-game would have been so heartwarming.
