Spend enough time locked in a basement room with no windows, alone, and you will start to hear things that aren't there, see things that couldn't be real, and believe there is someone after you. You're slipping into Psychosis and the only way out is to check out today's creepy new video.

Oh it does, I have psychosis, but this has never happened to me, I have heard of people with it who have stayed inside forever. It's crazy.. mine isn't that severe, but enough that I see and hear things that aren't there, but it's just disembodied female whispers. Nothing scary.

From reading the comments almost no one here realized that he wasn't being delusional and that the doctor had indeed an alien parasite controlling him. The story is meant to make you think that the protagonist is completely delusional and crazy only for it to reveal at the end that he was right all along.

Even the most straightforward psychiatric problems have an extreme end of their effect. I'm a med student and I've seen poor patients with schizophrenia. The vast majority of them aren't scared of some grand conspiracy, they wonder what all the fuss is about. Until they are treated with mood stabilizers and realise their thoughts were unrealistic. I've had horrible panic attacks for years, I know what it's like. Yes, it’s absolutely horrible 😞 I can’t move, can’t speak. It feels like I’m screaming, I can hear myself screaming in my head. I’m trying my best to move and nothing happens. Luckily I haven’t seen any “entities” that some people report but it’s still one of the worst feelings I have ever experienced. It gets worse with certain medications that I’ve been prescribed in the past. I wouldn’t wish it in my worst enemy

I once been on an antidepressant that caused it frequently.. and i feel like it might have changed a bit my brain because since then i still have it every now and then but mine are a bit different than what is described...i usually wake up and notice the ambient light is very dim/grayish but not totally dark..everything is absolutely silent and i can only hear me breathing...whenever it happens i feel incredibly tired and i cant move but i also really struggle to keep my eyes open instead of being fully awake...if i fight it and try to keep my eyes open weird stuff start to happen and i can only see through glimpses whenever i gather enough strength to keep my eyes open for a few secs...if i just close my eyes and let it go it gets even weirder and much more intense as i start hearing noises and feeling like my body is being pulled/pushed around...by now im so used to it that i just let go everytime and dont mind whatever happens in it...its the quickest way to "break through it" and continue to sleep normally...whatever that is it literally feels like some kind of limbo between being awake and sleeping and i can only fully wake up or sleep after getting through it

I have another theory: "He's been into Amy since the day he met her. Maybe he said something, maybe he didn't. If he did say something, clearly she said she just wanted to be friends and that she didn't like him like that but that she still really cared about their friendship and wanted to stay close friends - to which he eventually, and with a heavy heart, relents - partially because he's hoping that if he remains her friend, that one day she'll see just how great he is and that they'll fall in love eventually - partially because the thought of life without Amy in any capacity is worse than the pain that he feels inside; pain that slowly consumes his soul from within while maintaining the 'friendship' platonically. Yet, despite this deep unrequited love he feels for Amy slowly eating at him - the thoughts and memories with her playing over and over again like videos on repeat within his own head. These are the memories that haunt him daily and yet still he cherishes them the most. And those gut-wrenching moments when he spends time with Amy - are the days he continues to look forward to the most; in spite of the anxiety, the stress, the overthinking, all of it. The memories that haunt him the most are some of his most cherished - those ghosts whom once haunted him inside, have now become his friend. He genuinely loves Amy and wants her to be happy - and is happy she's happy - but wonders over and over, when and if she will one day see the light - and if so, for how long, when, where, and why? He knows it will never happen yet, like a small child banishes a friend, he banishes that fact to the back of his mind - choosing peace and solace within his dreams and nightmares - dreams become his days and nightmares his nights. For him, to dream is to live, and to live is to die - unrequited love just consumed him from inside. But hey, that's just my two cents. lol

The actual description of a person gradually slipping into a severe paranoid psychosis episode is completely true to life. Somewhere between 1 and 5% of people will experience that in their life time. Whats incorrect is that the miracle of modern medicine has made psychosis a surprisingly treatable condition. With a cocktail of medications, >90% of people can be brought back to reality. Almost no one actually spends their life in their head in a padded room.

She thought that she was in a relationship with my girlfriends neighbour and actually went and knocked on a married man’s door, talking to his wife, claiming she was cheating with her husband and my girlfriend had to go drag her off. That’s only the tip of the iceberg. She been in and out of mental institutions throughout her life, in and out of psychosis. When she’s healthy, she’s completely normal and friendly. It’s actually scary to think about.
