This exact situation happened to my friend a week ago (a westerner, we both live in Korea). She tripped on a ledge on the sidewalk and twisted her ankle. While she was laying on the street in pain, not one person stopped to help her. I had to run all the way from my apartment to go help her get up, which took ten minutes. The majority of the Korean population will just pass you by even though a person obviously is crying in pain and in need of assistance. sigh

I was once nearly fainting on a subway and was sitting down on the floor in the corner of the doorway, not one person offered their seat to me even though I obviously looked very sick, until one old guy (which was standing) was asking me if I am ok in korean, I was shaking my head like "no" and then he was telling one younger girl that fixed her makeup and hair the whole time that she should pay some attention and let me sit down instead as I am obviously not feeling good. (sadly I was not able to talk at all as Ive had a jaw surgery where I could not even open my mouth one tiny bit, which was also the cause for me feeling like fainting as I could not eat anything for like 10-14 days ,not even drink at all, so I had to go to the hospital for IV drips. and the taxis wouldnt stop at all and I couldnt ask anyone to call a taxi for me either, so I had to go 1+ hour by subway instead..), I actually also fainted afterwards after I stepped out of the subway , like I was just falling to the floor on the side of the platform, but no one was helping at all.

Que pena saber que allá no es tan común ser amable o tener esas buenas acciones, lo digo por los vídeos que publican con ciertas situaciones que deberían ser de lo más normal.
