I had a joke with my meteorology professor that the correct answer to about 1/3 the questions he asked the class during meteorology 201 was just "instability" lol.

Can we get an in-depth series on soundings and Hodos! You explain it understandably. Is it possible to make a series about sounding data. Maybe go over some infamous that produced a different level of all hazards in comparison to a sunny day. You have quite a bit of audience interested in the same information. I know most of it and have been studying it for 10 years and still find something new every event. 🌪

Only 25.8k subs? There is a lot wrong with this number. I've been looking for a more in depth weather masterclass and I have finally found it. I appreciate you my friend.

I mean he explained it about as simple as it gets. Warm air rises and if there's a cap the warm air will build before exploding upwards. Since the air is colder high up the warm air will condensate forming clouds and that heavy moisture will come back down as rain. Instability is that build up of warm air before it hits the cap, and the cap is just a region of atmosphere that is warmer than usual so unless the rising warm air is warmer than the cap it can't rise past it. But if the sun is baking the surface all day it'll likely get hot enough to blow past the cap and start forming very large clouds and storms as a result.
