Great breakdown video...always best to start with agencies and move to the client side... However if you can land an in-house opportunity on the client side you'll get the best of both worlds IMO. Not only working on execution across channels/platforms but also with various teams in and out of the marketing function. Not to mention the level of importance you'll bring as the sole owner of a channel like paid media to the growth of the company.

I worked in an startup agency and i relate to whatever you said. Though i felt lot of issues from not being paid on time and there were even a time when i couldn't pay rent and was almost evicted. Planning on not working with any agencies anymore.

Having worked on both sides Google (worked twice) as well as Agencies, I can say it depends on you what you value the most. A Google name tag on resume or skills, because google digital marketing jobs are mostly client support jobs where you are very rarely involved in brand media plan or execution. Whereas these agencies will give you those opportunities with multiple geographies and industries. I will choose Skills over name tag any day because there are numerous ways to monetize these skills these days.
