I was a business analyst at one time and this is exactly what I did during one of my career roles at my former employer. But in addition I did also write test cases and ran testing for the platform enhancements. You become the trusted problem solver. You also develop trust with IT partners. This role was the happiest time of my entire career there and I don’t exaggerate. I have since retired from there. Super company.

all my 4 years at the university didn't know what major to specialize in, I learned CS for 2 years then shifted into business for other 2 years, this video has just opened my eyes to see clearly what I all wanted and I'm very grateful. Best explanation I've seen! I've been a business analyst for about a year and my role was never really defined for me by my bosses. But if I had to describe it, it'd be exactly this. In fact I've described my job as being a liaison between our business side folks and our IT folks.

Only thing a bit confusing here is, IT is usually more your software and hardware and data security gurus, not the coders / developers; usually those teams are called the Product / Product Development team - at least that’s my experience, but I’m sure IT is sometimes used as well.
