Good info to have. It's just like any other insurance. Better to have it and never need it than need it and not have it.

CMES are a bigger problem. Powerlines do not affect off grid. You need an exposed wire of a length long enough to allow high voltage to build up on the exposed wire. For off grid SURGE PROTECTIVE DEVICE if your worried look up SURGE PROTECTIVE DEVICE made for DC and AC power by midnite solar look it up. For me i have a full tin roof that is grounded my panels are also grounded. Will let you know if i ever get hit by lightning. ÇME's will never be a problem for me. You have to understand how power works. Basically all it wants to do is go to ground the fastest way it can. Many large buildings get hit by lighting every day. They have a lightning rod that takes the current to ground. I am not telling you to buy the product or not to buy it. What I am saying is do your homework first. I always like to educate people before they spend money on the wrong device for there DC systems. If your grid tied then go for it power surges coming in from the grid through CME's are real and have caused a lot of damage. Will this little thing protect them. Not sure, Your talking a heck of a lot of volts in a lightning strike.

There no cheap. I got mine over 2 years ago. At the time it sucked buying it. But hell it's one of those things I feel beater having. Hell just a good name brand whole house lightning protector is about 300 bucks. So why not go for one that may save the house from a EMP.. If we live after the EMP hits LOL. God Bless brother.

Though I wish you the best should that catastrophe occur. After working in home automation for many years, I saw many electronics destroyed during storms. Even with extensive protection. I worked in places where money was not an issue. New mic?

It's not here yet brother. Like I say in the video all I know is that one saved that house. So at the time I got one thinking it would not be a bad thing to have. Have been to a LOT of fire over the years from lighting. That's not ever a good thing. Thanks so much brother. God Bless.
