I am a single black father, custodial parent of four children. I raised myself, I lack the knowledge of fatherhood. I come from a two parent household. I spent my life shucking and jiving without guidance as long as I stayed out of the way. My mistakes? I prayed to the wrong GOD, I sought the wrong love, I played with death, never embracing life. Now I have children on my own and its daily struggle to take care of them. Multiple programs for mothers, no fathers. I was taught incarcerated, beaten senseless, cursed, and lone. "A weak father or mother can never produce a strong child". So I am weak? Met Allah guide me in the ways of his likeness. I ask forgiveness for worshipping a false god. We, as a people are doomed. Self serving, as long as we entertain and make money, we are satisfied. Trumply speaking, "sad".

I LOVE THIS MAN - however, I have a big problem with him saying that we are NOT supposed to judge our parents - THAT IS NOT TRUE - the misinterpretation of these scriptures keep people imprisoned to allow or continue to be subjected to sociopathic or psychotic parents. A parent is something that you do - just being a vessel for sperm or living in the same house with your children does NOT make anyone a father or mother. Why wouldn't any rational person, including a child not judge that their father coming into their bedroom and molesting them and having sexual relations with them is NOT A BAD PERSON- or beating them or their mothers, or NOT ever working to support the household, or fornicating and commiting adultery, cursing them out, beating them, locking them in basements or not allowing activities that are deemed normal and healthy! There are adults that have been psychologically abused since childhood or molested and/or raped by their parents that think they are supposed to honor their parents -OMG! Sorry, NO! No GOD requires their children to honor, submit themselves or subject themselves OR THEIR CHLDREN - to people who are or were atrocious parents!!!!

Honor doesn’t mean love or like. This is more so pointing to showing respect. For example, there was a funeral procession going by and Prophet Muhammad stood up and told his companions to stand up while it was going by. The companions wondered why would they stand when the man whose funeral it was was not a good man. He instructed his companions to stand. This was out of RESPECT for death, not the man, but death because we all shall experience death one day therefore we must honor death. So in honoring your mother or father you are honoring or respecting that they were agents to get you here. You came through them and not from them. So, if they are not good parents you don’t have to be disrespectful. Some parents have committed unspeakable things against their children that is not to be honored at any time. Nonetheless, we must respect certain principles in life. We should not take the position of judge over our parents nor ourselves since we do not have the full scope or the requisite knowledge to be a judge over our parents.
