There are so many different brands of firewood processors and log splitters. This is part two of this video serious, and I think we have found the best firewood processor for a small farm or a homestead. The Blacks Creek Model 1250 is big enough it will rip through rounds without problems and it will pay for itself selling the extra firewood. A person with a tractor can cut/split one years' worth of firewood in one day. This is the first of a two-part video where we show the firewood processor rip through some big nasty rounds. A link to the next video will be put at the end of this when it is loaded. The T25 by TYM Tractors is the perfect size for this job.

Great video ! I have read some of the comments, and there are some valid ideas..I guess people need to evaluate their situation and see what works the best for them. I run a winch fed processor because I don't have room or any other need for a loader. Is a winch fed processor something you ever thought about? Just wondering what others point of veiw is..

It really does make it easy. I am going to put the system under a roof, and bring the logs to the processor. With a dump trailer under the end, it will go fast and I think it will make a bit of extra money without breaking me down. I found a place I can buy smaller logs.

Did you get a chance to demo it before you bought it. I'd love to get my hands on one for a weekend. We heat with an outdoor boiler and I go through 15 full cords a year. Trying to make things easier as I get older.

I looked on their site and I did not see prices. Is there a place I can get prices without having to contact the manufacturer? It looks like a great product. With our new house we plan on heating with an outside wood boiler and this would be ideal. Thank you so much for the information and GREAT videos.

@TonysTractorAdventure
@TonysTractorAdventure 3 жыл бұрын
Not at this time. I am running logs which are at the top end of what it is rated for. I could adjust the cutter up one more notch. I think it would handle a 6 way easy. The company is talking about adding a 6 way to the line.

Thanks again Tony and Tanja. Do you ever get the hydros driving a curly grained split in hard in between the axe and the chute? Or is it just built so tough it doesn't care!
@TonysTractorAdventure
@TonysTractorAdventure 3 жыл бұрын
I have got one round with a big nasty place in it stuck on the splitter. I beat it off with another round. It was my fault, because I put a round way to big in the splitter. I have never had it not split if I stay in the rated size.

What is the average cord per hour out of the machine
@TonysTractorAdventure
@TonysTractorAdventure 2 жыл бұрын
It has many variables. What size logs, how are your logs placed, or do you have a tractor or not. With a crew, maybe three or four an hour. By yourself with a tractor 2 or 3 cords per hour. You will have some downtime to sharpen or replace the chain. With a tractor there is almost no manual labor. Until it comes to stacking. We have a line on logs that are not big enough for the sawmill.

How many logs on average can you cut before resharpening the chain?
@TonysTractorAdventure
@TonysTractorAdventure 3 жыл бұрын
It has a big heavy chain. I would guess 30 or 40 logs. Same as a pro saw chain. It was still pulling big chips out at the end of the day.

Every winter I buy a chord of aged 2 year hard wood. Delivered and stacked I pay $300. I'm 76 and is I live to 100?? that's 24 X 300. Total $7200 and no maintenance or payments plus all I do is put the wood in the fireplace and enjoy the warmth. I love your videos but this isn't for me. Thanks so much for sharing. Rob

I understand what you are saying. You would not buy a plane if you were only flying twice a year, but I am the guy that owns the plane. This machine can cut approximately 5 cords each day working 6-8 hours. If I work 5 days each week, that is 25 cords. 25 cords x $150= $7500 per week and so on. This machine in the right hands can pay for itself in a month easily with expenses (buying logs & maintenance). You are also making the assumption firewood will stay $300 per cord. 10 years ago, firewood was $40-$60 per cord. I would recommend you buy the plane. It is not hard to fly!
