What is a Fog Seal?

Designed to slow the aging of an existing asphalt surface, this emulsified asphalt mixture can improve surface appearance by sealing minor cracks and addressing oxidation. A simple, low-cost solution, it can extend the life of roads by an additional 2 to 4 years.

I just had my driveway paved and the contractor wants to apply fog seal 3 days later. Does it make sense to do that? Everywhere I'm reading online says 6-12 months

A lot depends on the material. We recommend asking your driveway contractor what the material is and what that manufacturer recommends for a waiting period before installation!

What material do you typically use for a fog seal? We use SS1 or some variant of it.
