@Sneha Mathew - Thank you for posting the question, its a good one. The AML/KYC process has been evolving ever since it started, technology has played a significant role in improving how data is consumed by organisations in order to perform the right level of diligence. However in the last couple of years we have seen record number of fines against Banks and good financial institutions for not having the right controls to capture money laundering through their internal process. Personally, there will also be an element of using technology as part of the AML/KYC process but there will always be room for the human interaction at the time of reviewing files, alert and submitting suspicious activity which technology cant identify. KYC analysts can upskill by always being aware of the latest news, trends and always continuing to educate themselves on the subject. starting as a KYC analyst myself i have never seen KYC as a dead end career if you keep evolving with time. - its a fantastic starting point for a career in the AML industry whether that is at a bank of else where.

@Kulbhushan Thank you for the comment, in order to be a KYC analyst no specific qualification is required. Although a lot of people who go into KYC or the AML space come from a legal, criminology or business background. However this shouldn't make you feel you cant break into the industry if you have other qualities which companies may need like good communication skills (verbal and written). Once you get into the industry there is multiple courses which can be taken. if you are completely new, why not have a look at some of the courses we offer on our website. hope the above helps
