In this video, I’m going to explain what a Launchpad is, and demonstrate how you can use it. This tutorial is suitable for beginners, and requires no previous experience! I’m going to also give a demo of how track are made, with an example audio file.

some form of Ableton Lite comes free with every Launchpad. Also I'd just like to say you might want to try User One Mode, that's where you assign an instrument to a midi slot and press the button to the right of the Overview pad and it works like a piano.

I believe like GarageBand, there are some pre installed samples that comes with the app that you have to manually install by going onto the ableton software app or website. You can also import your own mp3 or wave clips.

It's funny how one example can make what has been a confusing process finally make sense. I'm a Logic user but I noticed that everyone was raving about Ableton so I took the plunge and purchased both Live 10 and a Push 2. No matter how much I tried to understand the workflow it just didn't make sense to me. I was used to looking at one screen like every other DAW and seeing the results as I recorded. So I ended up selling the Push and was going to give up Live. I just happened to find your video and when you compared clips to Excel "cells" the light went on. Suddenly it all began to make sense. It may sound silly but for this technologically challenged man you turned a light on in my head and I appreciate it!

After I watched 100 times I finally figured it out! loaded as many clips and loops as the launchpad could hold. Having a blast. this launch pad sat under the bed in the box for a year.
