This is the mikveh I went to for my conversion! The water was so warm. I can’t describe the feeling. I dunked myself three times. 1st time I thought about my past and what brought me to this moment. The 2nd time I thought of the present moment. The third time I thought of the person that I want to be in the future. It was the most meaningful spiritual moment of my life.

Here in Israel most of the mikvahs have clean fresh towels , bath-shoes and even a place with a fan and make up so you can dry your hair and do your make up after the immersion if you want and I realy love it. For me its a time for my self, soul and body. This video is so important , it realy shows the spiritual side of the mikvah , thank you! ♥️

I really appreciate your channel . I grew up traditional , hebrew school, holidays etc . I never appreciated it as a kid .( i'm in my mid 20s) . A few years ago i lived with a religious jewish woman briefly and started to appreciate the beauty of my culture . I then ended up going on birthright and living in Israel for around 8 months and fell in love with it . Since being back in the U.S ive felt a bit disconnected from judaism and miss having a jewish community close to me. Your videos are incredibley comforting for me . Your warm presence , your calming voice , your knowledge on judaism and also the comfort you bring me of remembering the traditions . Honestly it feels like home watching your videos . Thank you for starting a jewish channel and continuously making such beautiful, positively impactful . content :)

@@amybrennan1620 and honestly there are hundreds of thousands of mikvahs in the world and some of them might look like how they were portrayed in that awful horrible TV series, but most of them are beautiful Mead and marble and the goal is to have a wonderful experience. I grew up in the United Methodist Church. We baptize once with a hand dipped in holy water on the head of a baby 3 times and that baby is set for life. Upon completion of Confirmation, maybe at 12 yrs old, kids get baptized as part of a special church service that welcomes them officially into the congregation. Some choose to re-baptize as a renewal of our promises/vows to God. I wonder how many religions use water to 'cleanse' their members.

In the old days, when taking a Bath was considered not healthy, Jewish men used to go to the Mikveh on Friday to feel clean for the Shabbat. women less but at least once a month. Being clean protected them from plagues especially in the Middle Ages.

The Baal Shem Tov, the founder of chassidic Judaism, said for a man technically the mikveh is not a mitzvah, but it leads a man to fulfill all the mitzvos. After I go, It is like the static in my mind has been removed, I am more optimistic and joyful. I read some torah that under the water, you reach a level of Adam Harishon the first man before he sinned. I only use it before shabbos but I am starting to think I should go everyday because it has had such a positive impact on my state of mind.

I am a Christian as well, interested in Jewish roots. Actually, many Christian Sects/Denominations also do complete immersion, called Baptism. A religious experience, and a Mitzvah, Identifying as Christian, just like a Jewish convertion. The difference is we Christians do ours Publicly and fully clothed. We follow this tradition from John the Baptister, son of Elisheba (Elizabeth ) & Zechariah the Jewish Priest, Grandson of Aaron a Levite, Priest. Great-grandparents: Jochebed, Amram also a Levite. I understand much more now about baptism and I cried so much to see how spiritual Mittzwah is. I just love all your your videos! This is so special for me...because I was told (by my sister) that we have Jewish background ... this means so much to me. I love Israel, and the first time I was there I thought I was coming home (without still even knowing about my background!)! God bless you!!!

March, 2019 I've been learning a lot of late...watching vids and films.... all to do with Judaism, specifically Hasidism.... The Culture and History of Israel and Judaism is so so rich. The more I learn, the more that I want to know. So, I appreciate watching this video. And, you make a lovely mother !! This Goyishe male ( and a Sammy - Who Knew ) thanks you and wishes you health and happiness !! God Bless !

Thank you. I’m not Jewish; I’m a Christian, and I found this so helpful for understanding the Jewish origins of baptism and thinking about Mary during her pregnancy. Also I see a lot of similarities to the rituals of Japanese bathing. I had heard about Mikvah before a wedding from a Jewish person I used to work with, so it is great to learn more about it.

Marian, before finding peace in Islam, I was seeking knowledge in Judaism and I will say the Mikvah is truly a sanctuary... a place of purity between you and Hashem! It is truly a treat to see the mikvah up close I had the honor of seeing a mikvah years ago during my Judaism journey. Islam has its own form of mikvah, known as ghusul and only difference is we do it at home not at a bath spot like you guys :) Mazel tov on the baby!

Thank you for sharing this! It’s just a wonderful video. I went to mikvah just before I got married. It was an exceptional feeling. I really felt like I was in the womb! Being surrounded totally by the nice warm water current while I’m curled up. I felt reborn It was even more special that I brought along two friends to make sure that I dunk totally. So I shared it with special people

Thank you for sharing your experience at the mikvah. Had recently went myself to finalize my conversion. Did realize that the mikvahs could be that different, yet still maintain the key similarities. The one I went to did have multiple towels and crocs available, so didn't need to bring my own.

I went to the Mikvah when I converted 10 years, ago. I had a shower and submerged myself 3 x as the Mikvah Lady said "Kosher" for each immersion. It was an amazing experience. I have very thick hair and I don't think I have ever been so wet in my life.
