Pretty sure opening chest cavity to place pacemaker is invasive! 🙄
@Doctablet3 жыл бұрын
Minimaly invasive. You do not open the chest cavity to put a pacemaker. The pacemaker is placed underneath the skin

I have ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator) since 11/2017. And after 3 years & 8 months shocked me 2 days in a row. My Sustained Ventricular Tachycardia went off last month 08/26 & 27/2021. I waited until the 2nd shock before I went to ER. I should have went to the ER @ first shock. I thought I was fine after the first shock. Now, I'm taking Sotalol 120MG 2x a day to control my irregular heartbeat♥️

How many price?
@Doctablet3 жыл бұрын
this depends upon the device you need. For a standard implantable pacemaker the cost is approx 5-6k USD. For fancier ICD devices this cost can spike up to over 50,000 dollars. Thanks for watching

When a pacemaker has been implanted (cardiac arrhythmia) for around 15 years ago (changed in 2 times: 9 years 1st one, 6 years 2nd one), (Here is the question) The pacemaker is for the rest of my life? Or, the hearth 💓 could be fixed by itself and doesn't need the pacemaker anymore, according to the regular three or six months computer tests results? Because, the results indicate that heart has been in a regular itself working pumps. Or the heart is giving a "break" to the pacemaker? 🤔 Or the heart fixed itself, when understood not to fall in love again?

Are pacemakers safe for 8 years old?
@Doctablet2 жыл бұрын
We do not discuss pediatric pacemaker use in this video. They are safe, but they have to be replaced after a number of years as a child will live many decades. Maybe try a resource like this: www.cincinnatichildrens.org/health/p/pacemaker

No pacemakers do not move much once implanted. they sit in a "pouch" under the skin. The skin can move freely over them.

Thoracotomy: In this approach, your chest is opened and thin oval patches made of rubber and wire mesh are sewn onto the outside of the heart (epicardium). These patches are connected to the leads. Sternotomy: This approach is similar to a thoracotomy in that the chest is opened. The difference is that the incision is made over the breastbone (the sternum) and the leads are advanced into the heart. A sternotomy may be combined with coronary artery bypass surgery or heart valve surgery
@Doctablet3 жыл бұрын
Pacemaker placement involves neither of these. Pacemakers are placed under the skin.
@kerridardis7000 Жыл бұрын
@@Doctablet except in babies. The chest is opened, 4 wires are stitched onto the heart and the pacemaker is hidden under the Ribs in the abdomen area in order to prevent it getting damaged.
