What would you recommend for a TRI Guardian Blue from Ultrasabers, a photon blade from VV, double wrapped photon from TCSS, or quad wrapped photon from TCSS?
@DarthCephalus4 жыл бұрын
any really. The wrap is just more cellophane inside, so don't pay extra for more of it. It does not make much difference and costs close to nothing to do yourself if you try.

GREAT VIDEO!!! What a nice informative vid! I was thinking getting a photon blade but my saber goes from Green to Blue and back to Green, so i guess i would lose my blue and the saber would just go darker then back to strong green, sadly... But great vid noneless! Thanks! may the dark side be with you ! (well, you are called Darth Cephalus after all!)

if you use a saber with a white LED like a Adegan Silver blade from ultra saber with one of these blades does it change the blade color respectively?

Yes. White has blue in it so it triggers the fluorescence

So, important question. If I'm looking at these new things like photon blades and the like, I'm basically SOL if I want a blue blade? Actually, my favorite is the green blade, so it looks like I'll have plenty of options of green tints with a photon blade. But, let's say I put a photon blade on a Kyberlight with all the various colors, my blues just won't be an option, will they? I'm assuming that if you wanted super bright in a blue, you'd need to go full pixel blade? I hope to get an answer for this as I looking to get a good lightsaber and can only afford one. If I'm mostly going to be using green, a Kyberlight with a photon blade should do the trick? Or basically just use Kyberlight's green day blade to get a really bright green. (I guess any brand with a photon blade should be good as long as I get the BLUE LED, correct?)
@DarthCephalus6 жыл бұрын
Pretty much correct in all cases. You don’t have to go with a string blade to get super bright in blue though: a Tri Cree blue is plenty bright. If you run it through a photon blade it makes the brightest green as well. It does lock you in to those colors though. If you want color changing, you have to swallow the pill that it will never be as bright as the alternative unless you are running white. If you want to use a photon blade, you have to give up on blue unless you change the blade.

Is there a difference between thick walled blade and thin walled blade when it comes to brightness? I'm trying to buy a photon blade but I'm not sure which I should buy. I'm not going to use it for combat, maybe if someone challenges me at a convention but it'd be a light combat. 😆
@DarthCephalus3 жыл бұрын
Thin walled are brighter and more evenly lit in general.
@bobbythomas96035 жыл бұрын
I need to speak in Ultrasabers terms. My blade is sunriders destiny. Does that color become more green with the photon? You made it sound as if it stays the same color, just brighter. I just want to make sure. Thanks. Great videos.
@DarthCephalus5 жыл бұрын
It will be more green. Sunriders is a blue green. The photon will turn the blue portion green.
@bobbythomas96035 жыл бұрын
@@DarthCephalus Thank you, that is what I needed to know. Consular green stays consular green, just a bit brighter?
@DarthCephalus5 жыл бұрын
Nope, just as green. The florescent only reacts to blue. Green would go right through.

So, what if I switched the colors and was using a diffused blue Kyberlight dayblade with Green LED's, would that make the blade brighter?
@DarthCephalus7 жыл бұрын
No. It is the green dye in the green blade that has the florescent properties. It reacts with blue. There is nothing florescent you can do with a green LED that I know of.

Would Ultrasabers TriCree Arctic Blue work with Vader's Vault enhanced day blade (blue)? Looking for the brightest white core.

It will be blue but it won't have a white core. It will just be very blue.
@ChiefMouse6 жыл бұрын
Darth Cephalus Thanks for answer. So what's the best way? Sanding the blade?
@DarthCephalus6 жыл бұрын
An enhanced day blade running a white LED will be close to a white core. Otherwise the white core happens on camera, up it does not look that way in real life.
@ChiefMouse6 жыл бұрын
Darth Cephalus Thanks. How would tri cree Adegan Silver react to the photon blade? I suppose US use just 3 white leds for it instead of RGB. It looks like the best way would be getting the silver saber and appropriate blade, either photon or enhanced dayblade.
@DarthCephalus6 жыл бұрын
The photon would not trigger on white. It would just be a light green. Silver with day Blades is a reasonable color changing option in my mind though. Works great with Ripperunstables as well. You get white lighting.

@jtabel5 жыл бұрын
Wow, this is really cool. Is there a similar version of this that amplifies blue?
@DarthCephalus5 жыл бұрын
Not really. There is an enhanced dayblade blue, but mostly florescent turns blue into other things, so you give up blue to have a photon blade.

Would a thick walled photon blade be brighter than a thin walled? I would assume so given there is more photon material to reflect the light. Also would you favor one company over another's photon blade?
@DarthCephalus4 жыл бұрын
not really. the light gets changed, you don’t need more material. as to manufacturers, I recommend get the karts from TCSS and put them together yourself. it is a lot less expensive.

So could a green dayblade be almost as bright as a photon blade with blue?
@DarthCephalus6 жыл бұрын
Depends on the green dye. Kyberlight green blades are almost as bright because they used a partly florescent green dye. A standard green blade would just be greenish blue with a blue LED but it would not get the light level boost of a photon blade.

So to get the perfect green blade you would have to buy a saber with a blue led, and then a photon blade? Because I'm currently looking at an Ultrasaber that I want in green, should i just buy the photonblade from VV, and get the saber in blue?
@DarthCephalus7 жыл бұрын
I don't know if I would call it a perfect green, but it is definitely a different green. VV calls it a rackghoul green. But yes, if you want to play with photon blades, you should get a blue LED or a purple LED that is running a full blue die.

You can get just the blade from Ripper Blades, Vader's Vault, Anakin's Armory, or Kyberlight. You can get the parts from TCSS. Any of them will fit in your saber. The problem is that you won't get the effect with a green LED. You need a blue LED to get it to react.

I want to make sure I understand this. So if you want the brightest green blade possible use a photon blade and a tri-consular green? Also on my Ultrasaber diamond series i can use the photon blade and full green and full blue at the same time?
@DarthCephalus7 жыл бұрын
Photon Blades don’t react to green. So a Tri green will be just as bright through a photon as it will through a standard. A Tri blue will be a lot brighter. In a blue green mix, the green will go through like normal and the blue will react. You might get a similar brightness to a Tri with just those two LEDs
@DemopVWgarage6 жыл бұрын
would the green photon blade give you a brighter light blue ( luke newhope) style color?
@DarthCephalus6 жыл бұрын
No. You can't get a blue with a photon blade. It turns any blue into green. You might try an enhanced blue day blade with a whitr LED for a pretty good ANH Luke. It would be white core with a light blue border.

Much the same thing really. VV sands the outside, SF does not. I like mid grade blades so I would prefer the VV, but for what they charge, I would personally sooner go with a Kyberlight, or If I am going to shell out that much, I would put in a bit more and get a Ripper purple dueling blade.

Any solid color LED of sufficient brightness through a dual diffused blade will achieve that effect on film. If you want it to look like that to the naked eye, you will want an enhanced day blade. The color on those is a bit pastel for my taste though.
