I beg to differ on few things. The word poly means more than one. Hence monomials cannot not be called as polynomials. Also number 7 cannot be called as monomial as it is just a constant( a symbol with fixed value) , not a term (a term is essentially a combination of constants and variables).

No , see monomial has only 1 term binomonial has only 2 terma and you can identify it's as 5x ×4y is binomial

The prefix "mono" means one or single and the prefix "poly" means many. I don't understand how a monomial ("one term") can be a type of polynomial. Maybe it's because when you have a monomial like 3x, it is really 3x + 0. Which is really 3x^1 + 0x^0. Maybe that's it. It all comes back to graphing with Algebra, right?
