I often feel overwhelmed by the amount of people and things to pray for.

I’m in a class in college right now that is solely based on “spiritual disciplines” and prayer is one of the big ones they try hammering in. This has been like a breath of fresh air so thank you and keep up the good work

I'm having the same experience from a higher learning Christian college. I decided to not throw the baby out with the bath water, at least for now, but these Theocast - Rest in Christ videos have helped me put the emphasis back on the good news of Christ and off how much spiritual disciplines I am doing. The thing is I do many of them, but it is more of a desire that God has put there, not something forced or that I credit to my own will. God is working things out in me and through me. If anything, biblical discipleship would have been helpful in my early spiritual journey. As a human race, we think way too highly of ourselves, rather than enjoy, celebrate, remember and rest in Christ.

Heard about your podcast from my brother, and man it is so good. I feel like I’m spiritually starving at my current church and you podcast is like a breath of fresh air. I really enjoy the content as I’m trying to navigate the Bible from a more reformed perspective than to read it how it was taught growing up.

Am i wrong to believe that meditating on God's Word is more beneficial than prayer. I never want to discourage anyone from praying, we should be in a constant prayer at all times knowing He is always there. If we aren't immersed in communion with Him in His word, only then can we even know what to pray for. The Holy Spirit and Jesus our Lord pray perfectly for us. The longer I walk with Him the more i realize how much i don't know. My heart breaks for every believer that doesn't really get to know their Savior and learn what is His good and acceptable and perfect will. Prayer is talking to God and meditating on His Word is listening to Him, what should the ratio be?
