Does there ever come a point in time where SSA STOPS sending you CDR's? I've been on SSDI since Dec 2010. I've filled out 3-4 CDR's. It's SOOO stressful, time consuming & makes my diseases flare every time I have to do so! It would be SOOO relieving to know if/that SSA FINALLY got it that I'm not going to magically get better, only worse. And I've expressed that in the CDR's. Will they ever stop sending me CDR's?

Once you get close to your full retirement age they will stop. Unfortunately, that's about it. Sorry I can't give you a better answer. Ed

I struggle just to wash a load of dishes. I am doing my CDR right now and so stressed. I’ve been crying all day because I’m worried the state of the economy is going to be an incentive for them to tell sick people too bad, you’re off disability. I will surely end up homeless :(

Just fill everything out to the best of your ability, send it back, and forget about it. I've done 10,000s of those and that's my best advice!!

I had a CDR455, short form, three years after receiving SSDI in 2017. It was found favorable for me. It’s October 2024, just received my second CDR455, hopefully this time around it will also be favorable for me.

I submitted my SSA-454-SM online October 21,2024. Filled it out the best I can. I updated them with the new doctor I'm seeing, also new medications I'm taking. It's hard not to stress out for sure. I'll continue seeing my doctor(s) and taking medications, so SSA knows I'[m trying my best and I am still disabled. It's interesting that they use a quota for those CDR. It's good to know I can rest easy knowing that maybe they won't process mine because the funding they allocate. I believe the not knowing is what stresses people out and the panic of what ifs. I refuse to be homeless. That's the key component that stresses me out the most. I saw one of your videos where you stated, "Fill it out, Forget about it" and I'm like, "How is it possible to forget about it?" But as long as I attend my appointments, take my medications, everything will be okay. In addition, in the Daily Activities section, I stressed that I can't walk for long time without my blood pressure being over 150. I can't help a friend move heavy objects without feeling dizzy and light headed. One thing I did take from Reddit, a lot of people feel SSA is the enemy and they are compelled to beat them like it's a game of chess. It may feel like it at times, but I don't really believe SSA is the enemy nor they're out to make people stressed and worried. It's just a job and they're doing their job. In summary, your videos help a ton of people. I need to take a breather and relax a bit. If I'm not mistaken, it's 90% approval rate for CDRs and that's a high chance of being approved. Flipping a coin at that rate would have it land on head 90% of the time. Your videos help out a lot.

SSDI started Jan 2016, still active. Never had a CDR it’s (8) years now. Sixty four in June. Original letter said every (7) years. Very interesting ?

ive been disabled since birth, i have a ventriculoperitoneal shunt since birth, i never worked a day in my life, i also have emotional problems, these reviews always get me nervous and badly upset. i accidentally forgot to put in the remarks section of my medical condition cause i am so badly worked up over this. my form didnt ask about to put my doctor's name, i did make a copy of this form though.

my decisión letter had no mention of a review…. however, my award letter did, it’s only 16 months from my first payment in dec 2023… (apr 2025) but a little more than 3 years if you count my onset date and back pay time of feb 2022…. i do worry about this, i’m also a disabled vet receiving compensation from the VA …. now it’s 2 pensions i have to always worry can be taken away or reviewed. gonna stay in top of my doc appointments and sure my disabilty míes remain documented accurately 👍🏼 thanks for the videos

I would like to see a video on how the process is different for people who qualify by diagnosis. I qualify under 101.5 I am a below knee amputee of both legs. Is there a way to expedite the process? Will you have to do CDRs?

Thank you for your informative CDR video. I'm wondering when my SSDI approval letter said I would get a health audit in 5 to 7 years. Is that 5-7 years from the 1st month I received monthly SSDI payments (Jan 2020), or 5-7 years from when the back pay began (mid 2017)? Also, I'm turning 62 in the spring. Should I expect to have a CDR before turning 62 and again before I turn 67? I did just receive a letter of continuation of benefits based upon a financial audit/work review earlier this year.

5-7 from when they determined that you were disabled when you saw the SSA doctor If you are turning 62 you are getting close to retirement If you were born later than 1960 your full retirement age (FRA) is 67 then it will convert to Social Security Retirement In your 60’s Continuing Disability Review (CDR) highly unlikely No more CDR when you reach Full Retirement Age

Read your awards letter when you first got approved for your benefits. It’ll state in the awards letter how often they will review your case. Mine is every 3 years. It depends on the person’s medical situation . The first CDR they waited for 5 years to review my case. I’m not sure what the delay was. But now it’s every 3 years.

Thank you for the informative video. I was approved for SSDI on my initial claim - for mental health no less. The approval letter has already advised me that I'll be subject to a CDR in three years (I'll be 34 years old). I'd like to try and go to college part-time (6 credit-hours per semester) while receiving benefits but am concerned about how this may affect my CDR or even trigger one to occur sooner. I don't have an intention to earn a degree. I just want to try taking a part-time class schedule at the local community college to have some responsibility and social interaction. Are my concerns warranted? Thank you!

On the update form, is it best to say your doctor has told you NOT to work or "we haven't discussed it"? There comes a point where Doctors know you're disabled and its not really brought up anymore unless you are there for that reason. They will just ask "hows issue X doing, you hangin in there" and we say "yes Doc thanks". Often times at the Doc for Co-issues, not necessarily the issue that disabled me. BUT, the Doctors knows I cannot work.

I just had a follow up review over the phone. I called one day before to verify that my package was received and they didn’t have it so set an appointment for me. The SS person told me okay we are all done and it will go to review. What comes next? Do I get a form in the mail stating the outcome or do I just continue getting paid or just cut off? He wasn’t very clear.

Question... my ssi benefits were stopped without hearing. Isnt that a violation of my Due Process writes? Also..According to Rule SI 02301.300, the SSA is obligated to provide individuals with notice and an opportunity for a hearing before suspending or terminating their benefits

A hearing is with a judge. But if you believe they stopped it incorrectly you can submit an SSA561.

@@MyGovExpert Uhhhhh... I know a hearing is with a judge thats why i asked the question that way. Already filed that form and waiver form 2 wks ago. All of a sudden i owe $1200 after i received disaster assistance which isnt counted. So basically..SSA being a federal entity has to follow federal law, they can't violate it which is due process. The Fourteenth Amendment's Due Process Clause ensures that citizens have the right to a fair and just process before being deprived of their rights 18 USC

I just got my first cdr I have chronic knee pain need a knee replacement but doctor told me to wait for a few years because of my hard wear in knee no real improvements should I worry my doctor said I still can’t work yet?

Can you comment on how cdr,s are handled for overseas living citizens? I have never heard of anyone residing overseas getting a cdr that collects ssdi. I will be 64 in a few months and have never got one since leaving the us 9 years ago. I had 3 in the 10 years I lived in the US. Thanks

I had to see a doctor that the Federal Benefits Unit of the U.S. Consulate sent me to for my CDR when I lived in Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras. The doctors had a contract with the Federal Benefits Unit.

If someone had loaned someone money before their disability and the person begins to pay them back now while they are receiving benefits . Would this be considered a countable or a non countable ? What types of examples can they NOT count and what examples DO count? Also what if someone lives on a property that they were paying rent to own on but that person decided not to sell so the money bought the mobile home and it’s paid off but don’t own the property and now don’t pay rent . How would this count?

Question,,,my dad just got a second CDR review in a matter of 5 years, there were only 4 questions, like,, Did your doctor said that you can't work? It's your situation better or worse ? Have you gone to the doctor for evaluation,,counseling,, prescriptions,,,there are 3 small lines, he wanted to put the three things on each line but there is no space,,than he just put each thing on each line and the dates,,,was that correct? and finally, he can't sign in online because he bought a new phone, however he gets emails alerts from the ss when ever they send him a message or an increase,,,well he did it on line March 3,,,today March 18, he got an email alert from ss that he had a message,,his very worried, he can't see the message and he worries why would he get a note or a message from ss 3 weeks after he did the review,,,note: he will be 60 years old next month, ,,can you please elaborate to help him have a little peace, thanks.

I won my case 3 years ago and the time for my CDR was the end of last month, I have not received anything in the mail yet, how do I know if they sent it and it got lost in the mail and the clock is ticking and I don't know if it is?? Should I call them or just wait and assume something will show up in the mail sometime. How much later than your review date can it get to?? Thanks!!

As long as your address is correct at SSA, then they just didn't have the budget to do yours. So it sounds like you are good for this round!

If I phoned the SSA and asked them if there was a review in my near future, would it cause one to come up sooner? Also how can I prepare for it or avoid it? I have some learning disabilities and I could really use the help of a good psychiatrist or psychologist to give me a fair assessment of them. I know it is too common for the SSA to send you to a doctor who does not see the severity of your disabilities. How in the heck my attorney helped me get past the first exam without losing my benefits is something I will never fully grasp. Of course she has been helping maybe many other people in the same situation keep their benefits. I know it is somehow possible to have the results of the exam contested for various reasons. What I need is a doctor who is willing to get to know me and see the true severity of my disabilities for what they really are. I am not looking for someone to lie about them but I also don't want someone who downplays them either. More like someone who doesn't really like the SSA and refuses to unfairly help them kick people off their benefits. I am willing to travel some uncertain distance to see such a doctor if he or she really is so good at the job. Ideally it would be someone willing to engage in normal conversation and do other discreet tests all while making it seem fun in some way. It would be a miracle if that doctor lived near me. Down the road from me within walking distance is an expensive drug rehab resort. They don't do learning disability evaluation related stuff as far as I know but it would be a place where there is likely to be a psychologist or psychiatrist. As I said, I could walk there if I had to see them but they would not be right for me and I am also not willing to burry myself in medical debt. When my mother was still alive she was married to someone who lived across the road from it. My last CDR was a short form and that was 1 or 2 years ago so I wonder how long I have before they try to send me to one of their doctors. I am OK with visiting UPMC Western Psychiatric if I must and if it comes to it I realize that being committed for an evaluation is nothing to fear. I just realize to take care of a few small things first like making sure the house is secure and all of that since if they do decide to do that you may be away from home for a week.

They will notify you by mail. I just received a letter last week for my CDR. I have a phone interview on Thursday the letter stated they need more information about my disabilities even though I already filled a form out last August in 2022. And in May of this year they sent me another letter saying that they received the information about my disabilities and that no more information was needed on my behalf and now they want more information…. I’m confused as to what other information they could possibly need. This is my 3rd time doing a CDR. I’ve been on disability since September 2011. Obviously nothing has changed and everything is on file. I guess they might have me fill out more forms. Even though I already did that last August. 😂

My award letter has me signed me up for Ticket to Work which doesn't have CDR during the program, but I'm not going to be doing Ticket to Work. Also how do i unassign from Ticket to Work? You can call SSA and they will tell you when your CDR is scheduled. And then call the Ticket service to disenroll.

Quite often they don't actually lose the documents. They are just misrouted to the wrong person/section.

You can give them a call and ask. But the whole system is so budget dependent that you never know when/if it will happen.
