My most recent purchases have both been over 15 year old Lexus, one had 280,000kms and one had 150,000km. Both have been super reliable and still basically drive like new, the interior may be a little worn but not bad at all and after a little care they're looking pretty great as well.

I bought a 16 year old Japanese car with 68 thousand kms, and everything still works.

Used cars are always a lottery, but in case of 5 years it should still be ok.

There are a couple of good points here, but man.. you really don’t know much about cars and overall this video is not a good buying advice. Just the fact that you bought a Range Rover which is one of the least reliable cars out there says something. German cars when they have 200k km maybe look good inside and outside but mechanically oh boy, endless money pit. Japanese cars on the other hand are the most reliable vehicles you can buy.

Thanks for the feedback. Just compare motor hours on Japanese and German cars. And of course car technical condition of the car with same motor hours would be different in cars that spent this time in traffic or on the highway. I bought a Range Rover not because it is reliable, but because I love them and want to)) By the way they are not least reliable if well taken care of… But not a Toyota Camry of course 😉

@@Fat_PetrolheadSo you're saying that all japanese cars sit all the time on the highway and all german cars are used in city traffic and that's why japanese cars withstand 2 or even 3 times the mileage without issues? 😄 This must be some global conspiracy to damage the reputation of german brands. Even german media say that their cars are unreliable 😄 (not to mention mechanics and ordinary people from all over the world)

@@Fat_Petrolhead yes re hwy vs in traffic or many shut-offs & restarts etc. But in video u said that a german car w/ over 200K could be in pristine condition but usually japanese cars were not at that same high 200K. That hasn't really been my observation over time, though some of the newer german cars do seem more durable, and the newer volvo's seem unusually durable, to a standard i've actually never seen in other brands. But some japanese cars wear very well, especially the mechanical drivetrain of course, which is what we're concerned about anyway. Some toyota and hondas easily get to multiples of the 200K figure, ie 600, 900K. So to me, there's zero comparison in long-livability and durability when comparing german to toyota/honda.
