I've installed a couple of whole house fans in my day. For areas that cool off somewhat in the evenings, the fan really only needs to be run for 15-30 minutes to evacuate the hot air in the house and replace it with the cooler outside air. Really great and simple technology.

@BlockchainToTheFace if it is a hot day and cools off in the evening you can run a whole house fan instead of ac because it runs at 1/15th cost of AC. By running running your ac less you will also extend the life your ac system. Ac system only last about 13 years on avg. now you can make them last up to 20 or even 30 years. AC is the most expensive home appliance to run and replace. Whole house fans are the V on HVAC. They aren’t designed to replace AC but run as a companion with your AC system.

Attic fans do cool your house down. They remove the heat from your attic s which allows heat from the house to escape. Otherwise, you create a greenhouse effect and your house continually heats up. Just an attic fan alone will keep your house 10-15 cooler than without. Not a major help but instead of 100 outside and 90 inside, you can be at 80 inside without running anything else. Very nice to have in the SW and SoCal with electric prices

If used correctly they could cool a huge room or two down. We called itban attic fan because it literally connected to an attic. The trick was, you leave the 2 doors open near the "attic fan'" and it would create an incredible pressure that would cool you. I feel like you left alot of information off
@qcmanufacturing
@qcmanufacturing 2 ай бұрын
Here is some more info. The attic fan you would run when it’s hot because it keeps your attic with in 5-10 degrees of the outside temp at all times. This prevents your attic from getting up to 150 degrees on hot days which makes your ac not cycle on and off. The whole house fan you only run when it’s cooler outside than inside your home. This is usually in the evening, night time hours. If you’re in an extreme hot climate like Texas you would use the whole house fan during the spring and fall and have to use a/c prevent your ac from running 9-10 months a year. That helps your ac last up to 30 years because ac systems only last 12 to 13 years on average. These products are the ventilation piece of the HVAC system. Most homes don’t have any ventilation products.

Yeah, it will keep your attic about an avg of 10 degree difference from the outside temp during the day. So on hot days your attic can reach temps of 140 degrees it will make your attic much cooler and make it easier for your ac cool the house.

Hello, im im texas. im in the business of house ventilation and have been for the last 20 years , i remember seeing those old big belt driving fans in old house attics , obviously, this is intended to move and create natural air circulation through out the house by cracking opening doors and windows , not to be used during extreme temperatures? You can't have your house ac running while using it because then you'd be pouring money out your windows, but do you guys get in a modern house issue of dust ,pollen lr debris drawn through the openings? I mean, with people's tendency to be allergic to everything now a days is this a concern for your clients? I imagine you will have to keep room doors and wndows open to create proper circulation? Does this affect pressure in the house ? At long term use have you seeing any damages to paint texture or tape? Specifically on a humid environment as we have here in texas all year round? Thanks.
@qcmanufacturing
@qcmanufacturing 3 сағат бұрын
Yes, we create negative and positive pressure it it won’t affect the home structure. You would never run this fan when it’s hot outside. You only run it when it’s cooler outside than inside so you don’t waste conditioned air. The outside air is normally 2-5x times cleaner than inside of your home. We also make the world’s first MERV 5 rated screen to block out dust and pollen entering the home. These systems are designed to help you cut down on your ac usage in the evening and nighttime. This will also help extend the life of your ac because you’re putting less wear and tear on the unit. You pair up an attic fan with our whole house fans and you have the best ventilation system money can buy.

You’re missing the entire concept. Every where across the country there is a 20-50 degree temp swing from day and night. You use the whole house fan when it’s cooler outside than inside. This is usually the morning, evening and nighttime hours. When you run the whole house fan all night you pre cool the home to what ever the low temp is for the day. Now it’s going to take a lot longer for your house to heat up and if you need to use AC it’s minimal. AC system only last 12 years on a national avg. it’s also the most expensive appliance to run. So when you can cut out half of your ac useage you can double the life of your AC system and save money on your energy costs. Then there is the comfort and IAQ benefits as well.

Your ac during the summer can cool your home down to the low 70s where a WHF can cool it down to low the 60s and it run at 1/15th cost. Whole house fans are the V in HVAC. @sticksbass where do you live? There’s only handful of places that don’t cool off at night during the summer. In those climates you normally run your ac 10 months of the year and you can use the WHF during spring and fall and cut down the ac useage to only around 3-4 months a year.

You don’t run it during the day. You only run it when it’s cooler outside than inside. If you live in a hot climate zone like Texas or Arizona the fans work great during the spring and fall.
