Great video. Do you have it set to brew priority or steam priority. How have you been liking your Mara X? The white colour looks beautiful

Beautiful! I am a beginner using a Bambino Plus and Niche Zero, but keep having channeling issues...MDT, Distributor/Leveler, and Tamp to no avail. Wonder what I am doing wrong..

Use double shot basket. Highly recommended a freshly roasted beans from 1 to 2 weeks old from roasting date. Begin with a recipe of 18g in, 36g out in 30secs. You can also try another coffee beans from other roaster. Sometimes it's the beans.

@@HomeBaristaCorner Hi. Yes I am using the IMS precision filter basket 18-22g on a bottomless portafilter. The beans I am using is fresh…almost too fresh as they were recently roasted on 6/19. It is a medium roast from Caffe Lusso called GMC. I have been doing 18-18.3g in and usually getting 36-38g out around 22-26 seconds. I am still trying to dial-in and I am getting closer to 30 seconds, but as of late I have been getting so much channeling. My grind size is a 21 on the niche zero at the moment.

@@imprfct for lighter/medium roast it is ok to extend the extraction from 30 to 35secs. This means you need to grind finer to achieve that. Faster extraction will result to channelling. Use the manual mode in Bambino and try 10secs pre-infusion time "manually" (press and hold).

Merry Xmas my friend Excellent video and very helpful I also have the Mara X v2 and the thing I want to ask you is whether it actually takes 24 min to warm up cause mine reaches temperature at 11 … Very strange
@HomeBaristaCorner
@HomeBaristaCorner 8 ай бұрын
I understand your concern, same concern as well. The light will stop in 12mins but your portafilter is not hot enough and not ready to brew. I recommend to wait up to 24mins to "fully" warm up the group head and portafilter. This way you're able to achieve the optimal brewing temperature.

@@HomeBaristaCorner indeed I have also noticed that regarding group head temperature… Thanks 🙏 for your answer

It’s strange that an expensive machine would take that long to warm up. I could make 24 shots ! in the time yours takes to get to temperature

Yeah, prosumer machines are longer to warm up but they are more consistent (perfect brewing temperature) than home appliance type machine. I came from Breville/Sage machine, a big difference in quality of shots. I just bought a smart plug to auto schedule to turn on the machine as a solution.

@@HomeBaristaCornerSage dual boiler is just as good or better than Mara X though

@@atticustay1 Dual Boiler was my another option before but I find it too big for my small kitchen. You will be surprise how compact Lelit MaraX when you see it in person. And still prefers the look of a classic E61 type machine. They are built like a tank that will last longer.

Hey, why not go all the way- get a real job as a barista! You'd likely see if your skills are up to 'corporate level' ! That would likely be a depressing experience, don't you think? I don't see too many happy baristas...

I would loved to but for now a hobby. Maybe a small cafe of my own soon.

Depends on the cafe. There’s plenty of nice specialty cafes with happy baristas. I’m one of them
