This is a great solution. But I discovered the company Mousemesh who manufacture air brick covers which have a plastic frame (in different colours and sizes). Look a lot nicer and was easy to install. I haven't had mice since. Highly recommend!

Brilliant I've got six that need that mesh and glue. What glue do you recommend?

When sealing mesh to an exterior wall or pipes as part of a rodent-proofing process, the choice of sealant is indeed important. CT1 is a popular choice because it's a strong, multi-purpose adhesive and sealant that works well in various conditions and adheres to most surfaces, making it effective for outdoor applications. However, the suitability of CT1 or any other sealant largely depends on the specific surface you're applying it to. Here are some factors to consider when choosing a sealant for attaching mesh to an exterior wall or pipes For specific applications, it might be beneficial to consult with a professional or a representative from a hardware store who can provide recommendations based on the particular characteristics of your project. It’s also a good idea to check the manufacturer’s instructions and guidelines for both the mesh and the sealant to ensure compatibility and best results.

Thank you for sharing. I want to do the same thing, but I cannot figure out how am I to clean the air bricks to remove dust after sticking the mesh?
@pghpestcontrol Жыл бұрын
Great question! Before installing the mesh, a thorough cleaning of the air bricks is a good idea. Once the mesh is in place, regular dusting with a soft brush or using a vacuum with a brush attachment should help maintain them without needing to remove the mesh. For a deeper clean, you can gently rinse the mesh with water, being careful to not saturate the brickwork. If you're unsure then you should seek professional help. Hope this helps!

@gothicgorey Rats can actually chew through soft metals such as copper so probably best not to use this.
