In Florida as an inspector we have our code of ethics, Florida Building code, state statutes, and our administration code that governs us, and as an electrician turned inspector you are correct, learn the NEC, we have inspectors (electrically) speaking who never were electricians sometimes this becomes a problem because of that inspectors interpretation could actually be in violation of the code. But I love when a contractor will debate a code article discussion because it keeps our minds and knowledge fresh, and on a professional level I like, I have even a question on codes before and talking with the contractor we were able to come to an agreement. Also if you given a failed inspection the inspector needs to be able give you the correct code article for the violation. Great stuff Mike as always sir.
