gotta love the alto works recipe: small hatchback, 3 pot, 8000 rpm, turbo 13 inch wheels... everything i look forward on a car its interesting that you would choose an alto works to beat a cappuccino, i would take an az-1, i guess the alto works has the awd advantage (if its an awd model) but its a solid axle i think? an alto shell on a cappuccino would be mad with the multilink/wishbone and cappuccino driving position how much i wish keis existed in here, to be able to afford a cheap to run 8k rpm rwd or awd car is something that simply rocks my world, plus with those engines a swap is out of the question those 13 inch te37s on the purple alto before the lapins... my fav wheels and the lightest forged wheel! lol 1:51 i have a friend with a red swift gti with that same green in the valve cover i prefer the second and third gen altos though!

More Works content! Nice 3:58 aren't those Suzuki Every DA64W stock wheels? Also lmao at Daihatsu trying to Toyota Team Europe against Suzuki in the kei rally scene. Are there websites or resources detailing what happened or is it mostly an anecdotal word-of-mouth story?

Which alto were you trying to buy? Parts aren't that hard to get for the h-chassis models unless we are talking vvt related items.

I do keep looking at these to import question is F6A v K6A and Fwd v 4wd
@GarageKei2 жыл бұрын
I hate the single cam f6a so unless it's already had a swap to a twin cam I wouldn't touch it but that's just me personally. other people love it. So if we're talking stock cars I'd go k6a. Awd is really only good for the cool factor. They are better in the snow but I assume if you buy one of these you're not going to thrash it through the mountains in the snow anyway. On a normal road the front wheel drive is faster. FF is also pretty much bulletproof.
@GarageKei2 жыл бұрын
Also add that if you're going k6a get a turbo one!!

@radedimkin198310 ай бұрын
Hello, great clip, looking at importing one of these to Oz. Interested in the 4th Gen K6A model. So the FF is the way to go for more reliability and better performance ? 4wd does sound nice but i gather it would be slightly heavier and not appreciate the hard gear changes and cop them as much as the FF? Also would a T2 be a suitable bolt on upgrade for the K6A? Appreciate any info you can share.
@GarageKei10 ай бұрын
It is true that the FF has better performance than the all-wheel drive. The all wheel drive is basically a snow option... Having said that, there are companies that have a kit to make them rear wheel drive. So if you want to drift it you can't do that with an FF. But if you aren't going over like 130hp then you probably won't break the AWD and AWD is cooler imo.
@radedimkin198310 ай бұрын
Thanks for the reply and info. So what is the difference between the HA21S and the HB21S models. Is the HB the more desired model? All I could find was details about the HB having the the K6A, bigger injectors, larger intake, bigger turbo, but nothing that says whats different to the HA. Some clarity would be nice. Thank you
@BryBishop10 ай бұрын
The B is full-time 4WD (though you can pull a pin and decouple the rear end), and the A is FF, that is the only difference. The motor is identical, but the transmission is different (the B has a transfer case). It's seems unanimous that the A is lighter, faster, cheaper and more durable, and nearly all the used Bs have worn rear axle bearings. The power split is about 70:30 front:rear in the B.

Right, finally on the brink of buying an HB21S, and I have one remaining odd question... Do you know of a hitch receiver that fits these? I need something for the bike rack.
@GarageKeiАй бұрын
Trailers aren't really a thing in Japan. Don't get me wrong, they exist, but they are pretty rare. Maybe someone, somewhere, at some time made a hitch for the h-chassis alto but I don't think I have ever seen one. The towing capacity would be like 200-300kg tops.
@SadokistАй бұрын
@GarageKei yeah it's just for a bike rack. Wouldn't ever tow with it! Sounds like I may have to just use a sea sucker.

The Lapin is a better looking modern mini than the BMW Mini. Whats the difference between the Kei Works and the Alto works? Aside from two door/four door.
@GarageKei9 ай бұрын
Fair. The difference is it's a different car. Another option. Just like the Wagon R is different.
@Sadokist9 ай бұрын
@@GarageKei To what extent, though? Same weight and engine, just a different class size?
@GarageKei9 ай бұрын
What do you mean "to what extent?" It's a different car. It's not "a different class size" because the size and weight are determined by the Japanese government for kei specification. They don't share any interior pieces that I'm aware of. They don't share any exterior pieces from what I can tell. The exhaust is probably different. The floor pan is probably different, but if you wanted to know that your best bet is to go to MegaZip and compare part numbers. What's the difference? Everything except the engine and gearbox probably.. More than likely the same running gear (in the FF version) with a different body so that Suzuki could get more sales from people that didn't like the alto or the Wagon R.
@Sadokist9 ай бұрын
@@GarageKei I guess I'm just trying to figure out where it fits into the lineup, given the other options. It's sort of the "in between" car. Might just be a more practical alto, I guess.
@GarageKei9 ай бұрын
www.suzuki.co.jp/suzuki_digital_library/1_auto/kei.html It's not a more practical Alto... It's another option. What's the difference between the Alto lapan SS and the Alto Works? Everything. They are different cars.. You might say "the lapan was marketed for women". But so was the Alto works with the IE and even more with the F-Limited. The Alto was used and continues to be used as the car that a lot of businesses use to move their people around in. If the Kei was a more practical vehicle for the same money then this would not be the case.
