What is an Ion || Atoms and Molecules - 9 || in Hindi for Class 9 Science NCERT

In this Science (Chemistry) video in Hindi for class 9 we explained what an ion is. This is a topic from Chapter 3 - 'Atoms and Molecules' from Std 9th Science, NCERT.
Atom has protons, neutrons and electrons. Protons are positively charged and electrons are negatively charged. Neutrons are neutral. Atom has same number of protons and neutrons and hence, they are neutral. But, sometimes atoms, esp., metals loose one or more electrons and become positively charged and they are called cations or positive ions. And, sometimes atoms, esp., non-metals gain one or more electrons and become negatively charged and they are called anions or negative ions.

SIR, Pls explain whether Physical and chemical properties of Parent atom changes after it becomes an ION. Like Na+ and Cl- ions disassociate when dissolved in water. Do they have same properties as Na and cl atom have?

No they do not have same properties as the respective atoms have because the electronic configuration has changed when it becomes ions

Sir as you said, the charges of proton and electrons get simplified and becomes neutral in a element. So according to this ,sodium chloride also have power of sodium +1 and chloride have power of -1, then wil these also get simplified and become neutral?
