Lovely interview. It reminded me of my first birth which was at home. I had been going for some hours and feeling like it wasn't going anywhere. Now I know I was in deep need of glucos. Anyway I asked the lay midwife to cheque me so I could know how far I had come. She told me that I could sense that myself. You know, she said. And so I told her I was 8 cm open. Not long after things shifted into another mode. That moment when she told me that I knew was empowering.
