Any college can become a Autonomous college if they have satisfying conditions laid by UGC , But Govt policy is not in favour to Govt colleges to become Autonomous in kerala, that's why not much in number. Self Financing colleges are applying for it, upon satisfying the regulations many colleges got the Autonomous status now in kerala
