The songs meaning and purpose a lot of people are missing. The AI message is secondary. The song is predominantly about Ksenija Urličić, the founder of Dora, who is ‘Baba Roga’, a Slavic Krampus of a kind. Ksenija Urličić used to call her coworkers/subordinets her “pilići/chicks.” While she was heading Dora she never allowed Let3 to perform. After she retired and Let3 was allowed to participate and won, she was vocal that this is a travesty and embarrassment for Croatia. Let3 with this song are sending a subversive message to her, stating that it is not her chicks who are guilty either because they were under her control and this is their collective revenge on her/Baba Roga/Ksenija Urličić/previous producer of Dora, who gatekept the contest. They are trolling her through the storyline of her “chicks” kidnapping them to exert collective revenge by bringing them back with an AI generated song because they wouldn’t be able to write one otherwise. They also want to taunt her so that she cannot comment on a song that is most definitely about her.

lol They call her an “Iron Lady of HRT” for a reason. She has been involved in Dora even in her retirement. Being old and female has nothing to do with her power and how she waves it or used to weave it.

The lady from Let 3's performance is Severina who represented Croatia with "Moja štikla". In the music video the guys from Let 3 were the dancers, and now she's returning the favour. Also, she has been on a court mision to get full custody over her child after she divorced a wealthy Serbian bussinesman called Milan Popović. And in the performance she is a judge (with a hammer) protecting an egg and chicks (children).

I love your analyses of Croatian songs (and your channel in general)! The song is definitely a comment on AI and quite possibly AI generated (it literally does sound like something AI would create based on their most popular songs). As a Croat, I can tell you an interesting detail in the performance (not confirmed by the band... yet) - Severina's hammer resembles a judge's hammer a lot. In the last year or so she was in a bitter legal custody fight over her son with a Belgrade based wealthy businessman. The case actually went to the Croatian Supreme Court and the verdict was not very favourable for her. However, she presented enough evidence in the media to cast doubt on massive corruption in the Zagreb social services and justice system, which was followed by many other people sharing their stories. A few weeks ago an independent court in Split returned the shared custody regime. So she making an "oops" gesture while holding the hammer is her message to corrupt judges whom she brought a world of trouble.

Loved this explanation. However, should Let 3 win Dora and go Sweden a large section of the TV audience watching will not have a clue what is going on. It will be down to individual broadcasters to provide a quick interpretation of the song.

If this is true, then this whole thing would be completely next level genius but I also think that it would be too much for Eurovision. No one will invest that much research to understand the song. But it would make a lot of sense and explain a lot of the weird stuff that's going on. But I doubt that they will win anyway.

i think that the message of the song is deeper than AI. especially when you look deeper into the stories of Babaroga, she scares kids to distract them from real world issues, a scapegoat. i feel like this song might be more political than we think

Severina is, according to her own statement, an emissary of love and goodness from another planet, who has come to teach the evil babarogas about healthy values. Her carrying a hammer could be a symbol of the gruelling child custody case that she just lost.

i dont think the song itself is made by ai after some time in the song, we can hear a choir saying babaroga in the background this choir sounds extremely similar to the one we heard in mama sc, so i assume that they did make the song themselves

I think they changed it from the studio version as they cannot use a vocoder in the contest. Also isn’t the lead singer called Prija not Mrle (I thought Mrle was the bassist)

Letztes Jahr konnte ich Let 3 nach einiger Zeit noch positives abgewinnen, aber das ist diesmal nicht drin. Ich hab den Auftritt gesehen und war nichtmal mehr schockiert. Es wirkte auf mich kindisch und zu überdreht. (Der Hammer war unnötig ich dachte die Frau macht noch irgendwas spannendes damit)

The band is more of a theatre, disappointing and unoriginal the fact that they are running for Eurovision the second time with similar song and even costumes. There should be more original artists in Croatia!
