No it's not necessary to know sanskrit before entering into bams course....bcz meri ek sis ko sanskrit bilkul nhi aata tha....1st yr me seperate sub hota he Sanskrit aur teacher sikhate he.... everything like grammar also included...so don't worry

I think when it comes to choosing between bams abd bds,it depends on your interest,like if you like to read everything about teeth and all and you'd like to practice dentistry then go for bds,if you want a few more options then just one( oral health)to choose from later on,then go for bams that's it!
