@Garga Few years ago, Daron Acemoglu, winner of 2024 Nobel prize for economics, had written a book titled "Why Nations Fail". One of the points he covered is wealth or poverty is created by policies. Fact is, for more than 1000 years, the policies governing Bengal has not been created by Bengalis. These policies were created by those who colonized us. For Bengal to break its shackles, Bengalis have to wrest back the control of Bengal from our colonizers which didn't end with the exit of the British and the illegal splintering and partition of our homeland. The quality of a nation, its economy and its people depend upon its competitive advantage and the productivity of its population. Darjeeling tea, is a global brand just like Scotch. Tea grown outside Darjeeling cannot be called Darjeeling tea. This is why Nepal and Nepalis covet this land. Unfortunately tea industry of Bengal is not in the hands of Bengalis. This is just one out of many such examples where right from the owners, employees to final customers, almost none of them are Bengalis. As far as productivity is concerned, a lot depends on the quality of education which has gone back several decades with 34 years of regressive communist rule. Unfortunately TMC too is following the same self destructive path. We need to introduce vocation based education system which in turn needs to partner with the industry and the global economy.

Honest effort Garga. Kintu check koro, koto successful hobe. Dekho, Bangali ra initiate to bhalo bhabhe kore, but they are lost in the middle. Bangali ra sacrifice dibbi deete paare, aar or pore oder upore rajotto kora shohoj. Congress started with a Bengali, but after initial years, they were no where. Similarly BJP. When English left, Bengal was rich, but now they are hungry, naked and blunt headed. Communism started in Bengal with right earnest, but lost in middle. And what stupidity, CPM was kept in power for 33 years, even when the factories were locked down. IBM came to Bengal first in India, but were hounded out. TMC came to power, with a tag of driving TATA out of Bengal. British tagged Bengalis, as cowards, due to their apprehensions that, if given powers, they will be first to revolt, due to their independent nature. So they kept Bengalis away from arms and strategy. They were not "Yesmen". They became devoid of such strategies and restricted themselves from execution of orders. They could have learnt from Israelis, Koreans and the Japanese. They didn't learn. Now they are at large, and don't know what to do. The huge population of West Bengal, with flair of purchasing, gives a decent market, to grow, which the others size it well, and play it to their advantage.
