"Carrus" is the Japanese term for Callous (R's and L's in Japanese often come out the same when converting to English). It's written in 'katakana', which is used when you're trying to write an English/Anglicised word in Japanese, like how 'chocolate' would be pronounced as 'chokoreto'. Good explanations! Helped me understand for sure, as most information for general field trees is that cut paste is not necessary, but then again, field grown trees are healthy, vigorous and strong, and so probably heal very well compared to a bonsai tree/potted tree which needs a little coddling. We also dont want to lose a branch necessary to the design on the off chance either!

For the life of me I cannot get the cut putty to stick on my trunk, do you have any insight on this? This issue has let me to favor the cut paste

Lick the fingers you are applying it with. If you don't the putty will stick to you and not the tree.
