@@Jenz607 If you shop online, you can get very fine quality yarns, including camel yarn, from Purl Soho. No, I don't work there, but it's my new favorite yarn shop for natural fiber yarns.

I constantly buy a 30% camel, 70% wool yarn to make beanies. It does not itch and the beanie is warmer than the wool one and it is light and fluffy. It is the best for warm beanies that I have been able to discover. I make a 70's style beanie with 4 triangles on the top that I just sew together, 112 stitches (4*28) with 40 cm round pin, 3,5 mm or thicker, made long enough that it gets a little top and can be folded over the ears. It is warm but not sweaty in this wool.

FYI: "Camel hair must be collected by either shearing, combing or collecting the hair. All of these processes are totally safe and do not harm the Camel in any way. Camels take about 6-8 weeks to molt fully, so to speed up the process shearing is used frequently."

I purchased 100% baby camel yarn from Purl Soho. Its fingering weight. Very soft and springy. However, I'm having a tough time crocheting with it. I'm used to fine crochet thread and tatting thread; also sport weight yarns. But this camel is really a challenge. I'd sure appreciate advice or tips from experienced camel crocheters. Thank you so much.😊

I recently purchased some 65% camel/acrylic yarn. I feel good handling it but, it doesn't seem that soft. I hand washed a swatch and it did soften but not like it seems to be described.

I bought a hand-made (hand-spun) camel yarn today from an individual seller from a dog friendly house. Once I opened the package, I couldn’t stand how instantly allergic I became. So I gently squeeze-washed it with woolite, put it in a fabric softner, and then (no heat) air dried it…….. it’s still slightly wet, but….. it clumped!!! (I just untangled the braid but left it unwind) I am pulling it apart by strands but I was thinking, is this normal? And is it ok to rip apart like this? I also washed the other merino wool yarn but that one came out fine without any clumping.

Thank you for your awesome video. I'm making a hyperbolic out of camel yarn as I watch this & I was wondering how it is produced. I typically don't use yarn from animals because they are often more expensive but I got it for a great price. I really like the feel of it. It is very thin. I saw a video on how to easily triple the strand to make it like worsted weight whilst using it so I'm very glad I purchased it. 0010110. 433
