What is CI/CD Pipeline? (in Layman's terms)

What exactly is CI/CD and why should you learn CI/CD? This is something every experienced developer has heard of but there are some misconceptions floating around.

In simple words - No need to reload server to make changes, whenever a PR(pull request or merge request) is merged by the authorized person ,it automatically uploaded on server in the form of a stream. While if you don't use CICD, you need to merge PR -> pull on server and reload it - called downtime. Suggestions/Corrections are welcome :-)
