That's great and exactly what I set out to do! Thanks for the nice comment!

Just an older OG's overclocker weighing in here ---- I agree with his overall assessment that you should learn it manuaally. ---- However, what was not taken into consideration IMHO is that CTR can help a noobie at least *look for* the settings within bios manually. In theory, they become comfy working in bios and then baby steps from there. CTR "helps" with that from a newb standpoint because if you send a newb into a modern Asus Ryzen Bios > Good luck.......

Good point! I've been overclocking since 2001 (FSB OC FTW!) and it is a fair point that familiarizing oneself with the BIOS is more and more challenging! I should do some videos on BIOS settings for different brands. What is your favorite manufacturer for BIOS layout and options these days?

I know im kinda late to the party, but I guess with the new CTR 2.1 (just build my new pc w/ 5900) all I did (or had to do) was turn on XMP and set my LLC to mode 4 (msi x570). Just wondering since I see you have spread spectrum and all these other settings dis/enabled. Works like a charm for me and gets me 23000 in cinebench r23 stable and it even gives me room for more clock/voltage.

Yea it worked fine for me the first time around, but after that it wasn't working anymore. It isn't a "peak performance" tuner, more for a solid balance of power efficiency vs output. It's a cool tool, but I'd still rather dial my stuff in manually (ended up with the same result in the end).

What about the guys who don’t have dynamic OC switcher?
@UnhingedSystems3 жыл бұрын
Without dynamic OC switcher you can certainly manually apply an overclock, but it is a waste of time for gaming. Games run a world thread that benefits more from higher single core boost than it does from all-core boost. If the goal is heavy workloads then an all-core overclock is beneficial. This would be set manually using the multiplier and the core voltage settings. I'll be doing more overclocking videos in the future, there are a lot of things to cover.
